For the first time since the inaugural event in 1993, the Disc Golf Hall of Fame (DGHOF) and the Professional Disc Golf Association will conduct the 2017 DGHOF Induction Ceremony during the 2017 National Tour Elite Series finale event, the Hall of Fame Classic (HOFC). The tour-ending HOFC will be held on October 13-15 at the International Disc Golf Center in Appling, Georgia, with the induction ceremony's specific date, time, and location to be announced in the weeks to come.
The Disc Golf Foundation (DGF), established in 2004 as a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization, is dedicated to the promotion and growth of disc golf. The 3 key objectives of the DGF are Education, Advancement of the Sport, and Endowment.
Education
The DGF supports educational programs that promote awareness of the sport of disc golf, providing information and materials to over 700 organizations nationwide including educational facilities, recreation organizations, parks departments, charitable organizations, camps, service organizations, prisons and juvenile centers.
April 1st might be a day of pranks and mischief for some, but for those looking to make a name for themselves in the world of professional-level disc golf, the day has a more significant meaning. Starting at 12:00pm EDT on April 1st, registration for the 2015 Disc Golf Hall Of Fame Classic (HOFC) opens. The HOFC is the final and most important leg of the 2015 PDGA National Tour Elite Series, and series ending awards and bonuses will be awarded.
