Dear Future World Champions,

Welcome to the 2019 PDGA Amateur Disc Golf World Championships - Powered by Prodigy. It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to York, Pennsylvania, the site of the 2019 PDGA Amateur Disc Golf World Championships. South Central PA Disc Golf and the York County Convention & Visitors Bureau, in conjunction with the PDGA, have been preparing for this event for the past three years. Our host club, Gifford Pinchot Disc Golf along with The Carlisle Coyotes, The Glen Rocs, Lancaster Area Frisbee Sports, and The York County Disc Golf Club have taken the ten courses being used for this event to the next level. All ten courses have undergone major improvements including brand new targets and tee pads at five of the courses. We are proud to show you what South Central Pennsylvania has to offer, both on and off the disc golf course. We would like to give a special thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors who have made this event happen. Our goal is to give you a full week of fun and enjoyment while you are competing with players from across the globe. Many local businesses have supported our event by offering discounts and coupons for players and volunteers. We hope that you will support them while you’re in town for the week.

The big highlights for evening activities this year are the Fly Mart and our Player Party. On Tuesday evening 7/23, vendors will be set up at the Wyndham Gardens York for the world’s largest Fly Mart. On Thursday 7/25, the 2019 Am Worlds Player Party presented by Harley Davidson will be more than just a party, it will be an experience. We have partnered with the York Revolution, the local professional baseball team, to host the party at the 5,200-person stadium located in downtown York. Food and beverage will be provided for all. Beer will also be available for purchase. Festivities include on-field CTP competitions, home run distance throws, baskets from different manufacturers to compare, professional disc golf clinics, basket and cart giveaways, mini course, and much more. The party is free for players and volunteers to attend. Players may purchase additional Player Party tickets at $40 for adults and $20 for youth 15 and under. This year will be the 30th PDGA world championship. 57 players competed in Wichita KS for titles in two divisions back in 1990. This year we hope to see close to 800 players compete for titles in 14 divisions. It will be an honor to crown the first world champion in the FA55, MA55, FA65, MA65, and FA70 divisions. We hope that you enjoy your time in York for the 2019 PDGA Am Worlds. We hope to get a chance to say hello and thanks to each one of you while you are here.
