Jim Challas’s relationship with disc golf has been both a vocation and an avocation: a top flying disc competitor, tournament director, and selfless contributor. In the 1970s Jim designed and installed more than 25 Saucer Golf courses. As PDGA Commissioner, he initiated the development of player and course rating systems. He co-founded Hellyer Park and Parque De La Raza disc golf courses in San Jose, California where he continues to volunteer today. Jim has been an inspired and innovative disc golf promoter, all for the love of the sport.
