2024 Champions Cup: Weather Updates

In the event of severe weather at the 2024 PDGA Champions Cup, play will be suspended via three blasts of an airhorn.

Players should return to to directly to their vehicles or tournament central for a shuttle and take shelter until notified of a restart.

Restart times will be communicated via email, PDGA social media and the DGPT text service and event update page.

Event Updates

Friday, April 26

3:05 PM CT

Round 2 MPO tee times for Friday have been updated on the event page.

2:30 PM CT

The PDGA has determined “All Clear” being called at 3:00 PM CT. There will be a two-minute warning at 3:23 PM CT, and play is to resume via shotgun start at 3:25 PM CT. Tee times will resume at 3:30 pm CT.

The PDGA will be issuing further information on competition schedule adjustments, including updated round 2 tee times via email, but for now, players who began play this morning should be back at the course at 3:00 PM CT to head to their holes and warm up.

12:50 PM CT

After further monitoring, the PDGA has determined that a 1:00 PM CT “all clear” time will not hold.

The new projected time to allow players back on the course is 3:00 PM CT. Play is projected to resume at 3:25 PM CT. The PDGA will be issuing further information on potential competition schedule adjustments via email, but for now, players who began play this morning should plan on being back at the course at 3:00 PM CT to warm up.

We will update you again before 2:30 PM CT with a confirmation or additional update.

You still have the option to leave the course and return to warm up closer to the projected restart time as we communicate it to you.

11:45 AM CT

Based on continued monitoring of weather patterns in the area, the PDGA has determined that the projected 11:50 AM CT “all clear” will not hold. The new projected time to allow players back on the course is between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM CT. We will update you every hour, at a minimum.

You now have the option to leave the course and return to warm up closer to the projected restart time as we communicate it to you.

These times are projected and will be updated based on continued monitoring of weather conditions. 

11:15 AM CT

After further review of current weather patterns, the PDGA has determined that the earliest possible time to allow competitors back on the course is 11:50 AM CT. If the PDGA determines that the area is clear at that time, play is estimated to resume 20-30 minutes later. These times are projected and will be updated based on continued monitoring of weather conditions.

11 AM CT

Staff are now tracking two lines of storms moving from West to East over Northwood Park. Lightning is still active in the area. Staff are continuing to monitor weather patterns and determine a projected restart time.

10:45 AM CT

Lightning is still in the area. Tournament staff are monitoring the situation and working to determine a restart time.

10:20 AM CT

Play has been suspended due to lightning within a 15-mile radius.
