New Office Manager
New Office Manager
The Executive Director of the Professional Disc Golf Association is pleased to announce the hiring of Marcy Borelli of Pepperell, Massachusetts as the new office manager for the organization. The selection was made as a result of an extensive search, necessitated when current office manager Karolyn O’Cull announced that she would be relocating to Germany in June as a result of her husband’s change of station assignment with the U.S. Army.
Ms. Borelli will begin work with the PDGA on April 19th, 2011 for training before officially taking over the position on June 1st. She will be formally introduced to the Board of Directors and members of the PDGA at the Disc Golf Hall of Fame Classic SuperTour event on April 30th at the PDGA International Disc Golf Center in Appling, Georgia.
Marcy attended Arizona State University where she majored in Accountancy, and Middlesex County College in Edison New Jersey where she graduated with honors earning an Associates of Applied Science degree in 1999. She is the current Massachusetts PDGA State Coordinator and quickly became a major part of the New England disc golf scene after her husband John gave her a golf disc for her birthday just three years ago. Since then, she has directed several PDGA, NEFA, and charity events as well as several leagues. Marcy has also served as interim Vice President of NEFA (New England Flying Disc Association) and is best known for surprising her league members with a free pro clinic last year by three World Champions: Nate Doss, Valarie Jenkins, and Avery Jenkins.
Marcy has volunteered at the past two Vibram Open National Tour events by organizing free places to stay for traveling players, performing live scoring for the ladies, helping with the admin side of things, and running several of the non-tournament activities. Her outgoing personality, attention to detail, and eagerness to help others makes her a perfect fit for Office Manager.
Marcy plays the occasional tournament, but mainly plays casual rounds with John and other members of her local crew. When she's not busy doing the books for John's disc golf pro shop, Killer B Disc Golf, Marcy enjoys knitting, playing with her dogs, and dreaming of warmer weather! Originally from SC, Marcy is looking forward to returning South. "Besides being very excited about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work at the PDGA, I can honestly say I will not miss another cold winter!"
Marcy's professional background includes 11 years in project management in the print industry, as well as 5 years working in several volunteer and board positions, including president, of a national 501(c)(3) dog rescue group, ACES (Another Chance for English Setters).
Please join with the office staff in welcoming Marcy to the PDGA family.
