Position Title:  Director of Competition

Responsible to:  Senior Director of Operations

Background: The Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) is a player-run international nonprofit organization. With its international headquarters in Appling, Georgia, USA the PDGA employs staff across the globe. The PDGA, with over 100,000 active members and hundreds of volunteers, is the governing body for the sport of disc golf, and sanctions competitive events for men and women of every skill level from novice to professional. Permanent disc golf courses are found in countries worldwide, as well as throughout the United States.

Position Summary: The PDGA seeks a highly organized leader and strategic thinker to serve in this director-level position. The successful candidate must be a dynamic leader with demonstrated ability to implement innovative strategies which can promote PDGA Majors and premier events, and must be able to exercise independent judgment in completing both long- and short-term missions over a wide range of programs. This directorate is a key component in managing the highest level of disc golf competition and spectator experience at PDGA Majors around the world, including four World Championships. The Director will oversee and supervise the full-time PDGA Event Operations & Logistics staff, PDGA Marshals, and the various Event Directors/Local Organizing Committees who host the PDGA’s most prestigious events.
