If you're looking for marking flags, tape and related supplies that you can't find at Home Depot, try this mailorder company our design group has found called Ben Meadows in Wisconsin: www.benmeadows.com (http://www.benmeadows.com)

I've gotten tee marking flags that match the four colors the PDGA has defined for player skill levels (Gold, Blue, Red, White) instead of the regular orange ones from Home Depot. In addition, they have mulitcolored flagging tape for marking trails including the new white with orange polka dots I got to try for marking pin placements before the woods is cleared. They've got slings to make it easier to carry bunches of flags and belt holsters for dispensing tape. Some tape is even biodegradable after 6 months if that's important to you.

These are just some of the items they sell related to course marking but it's a huge catalog of outdoor marking and technical supplies including GPS, surveying, water quality, forestry, etc. Check it out if you don't have places near you that carry these things.

I have used this site in the past.

CSP Outdoors - Flagging (http://www.cspoutdoors.com/flagging.html)

The prices look a little better. Unless Ben Meadows is a sponsor of your events.

They even have an imprinted tape "Special Treatment Zone" Orange with a white stripe for those special areas.

I've been hip to Ben meadows for a few years now. Great source for that stuff as well as course-building toys (saws, etc.).

I was thinking that this was a thread about flags for the pins. I need to find some golf style flags for this new course in VA.

DGA had some highend flags for DG baskets. Not sure if they have them in their catalog.

DGA has a really cool flag on their website. It will give you wind speed, 6 mph, 12 mph, and 18 mph. Would be nice to have for tournaments, but would probably get stolen if left on the basket.

Perhaps at one time, but I don't see any flags listed on their site.

I've played a few courses that use these style flags. they work pretty well for hard to see pins, and seem pretty cheap to me.
plus, hot pink!

Yeah, I have those on all my baskets at my house and they work great. I'm probably going to upgrade to real golf flags for the new public course. May even use some on 10-foot poles for visibility. Securing them against theft will be a challenge.

I just looked at the DGA site and they are taking pre.orders for their new flags, with the wind markers.
