good thing you didn't go.The tournament was terrible.I got beaten by a guy who was cheating. When I told the TD about it, he told me that he wasn't going to enforce the two stroke penalty...
And does anybody know what the pay out of a B-Tier must be?
There were 4 masters but only the first guy got some money? Is this normal?

Come on now, who was Cheating?
I went and had a great time. Playing from the top of the Citadel was awesome. There were fences that were 12 feet from the baskets with 70 ft. drops
There were some very talented players there.
Thanks for the tournament guys.

If Arthur says someone didn't play by the rules, I believe it.
He is always teaching and trying to elevate the level of play in his part of the world and he insists that everyone know and follow the rules to the letter. (all the better for the future level of play) he spent a lot of time explaining the rules which was great learning experience for the everyone else but a major distraction to him. I could tell that the frustration was hurting his game. ( Which is why I ALMOST got him!) Especially one guy with his falling putts. It was such an ingrained habit that it really killed his game when we called him on it. He even had to warn me (only once!)
When I played last year we did have a couple of players that just did not know the rules beyond the basics. On my cards these were ams that wanted to play Pro after their second or third tourney. They had decent enough skills but were very weak on rules.
On top of that, tournament play is so new in Europe that lots of players don't feel competent or comfortable to call people on violations. Cultural and language barriers were a little bit on an issue, too. No one wants to offend but they don't know how to explain technical details. Lots of improper stances and foot faults, people not sure how to mark their lies from OB.
But I love that course and I would love to return anytime! I have heard nothing but rave reviews about the Easter Open, too. Next year! :)

I did play with Arthur one time. He does know the rules and does expect all players to obey. The problem is, he expects the other players to obey the rules. He expects absolute quiet when he is getting ready to shoot. However, I could hear him talking throughout the entire tournament. This is in no way a slam, just an observation.

ho ho,you go a little fast here Randy.
I do expect that players play by the rules but if I am making mistakes then it would be nice if somebody would tell me....
I do like to socialize with players during a round but I always try to be out of there sight and try to be quite when they are throwing.
And most of the time, I just tell players about their mistakes, instead of inforcing rules.
But if you think I am doing it wrong, just let me know.
