The new course layout has now been installed. Buckets and tee pads have been moved. We should have amap of the course on the board soon as well as individual hole tee signs.
We also have collected enough money to put in the first two concrete tee pads. Hole 1 donated by the Seabolts and new hole 13 donated by Terry B. These tee pads should be put in the ground whenever the weather permits us to do so.

Jul 05 2007, 12:57 PM
Tom Lowry has made a $1000.00 donation to put in 8 more concrete tee pads. Doug Fritz and Shaun Hunter have also purchased tee pads. This is FANTASTIC news.

Every year the City of Crowley puts on a Celebration of Freedom festival on the Saturday after the 4th of July. This year the city has asked me to run a disc golf tournament. It will be FREE to play and the winners will get a $50.00 gift certificate to somewhere for something.(i don't know). The tournament will start around 2:00 if anybody would like to play.
What tee pads will be used ? And will there be diffrent divisions ? If so, can I play rec ? :p I could use a 50 dollar voucher.

from the PIA thread:
Sometimes you just have to use trial and error to achieve the result you are looking for. I have changed the course around alot beacuse TXU came through and ruined 4 of our holes, then trees that played major factors in certain holes began to fall over dead. I also moved some holes out of the wide open front area to keep us away from the kids playing soccer and baseball. I believe the way the course is designed now is how it will stay, until we add 7 more holes back in the woods.
Lets face it, there were some changes that needed to be made to the course and thats what I did. I have discussed these changes with several people along the way, so it is not just me. When we are done with this course, it WILL BE THE BEST COURSE IN THE METROPLEX.
Sweet! Looking forward to seeing it one day. Best course, eh? Z-Boaz and Rockwall are up where the air is awfully thin. :DGood luck tonight at the mini.

Just when my disc stayed ontop of the bridge on hole #18. :( What are the chances a disc skips off the cement hits the pole and stays up top. Easy circle 3 just like the double mando I missed.
The new course layout is kick arse still don't know about it trumping z-boaz but it is a great start. Hole #4 on the side of the hill, hole #9 with the grass behind the basket, and hole #10 looks great. Plus the flow of the course is 1000% improved.

-13 is crowley a pitch and putt or what?
There are three sets of tees for every hole (except 10). And the blue tees are the shortest. Advanced divisions and above will probably not play from the blue tees.
Crowley overall is definitely not pitch and putt. But the blue tees are.

Course Guide (http://www.funkytownflyers.org/maps/crowley/Bicentennial%20Park%20-%20Guide.pdf)
so brice, what exactly did the mayor say was going to happen to the course? i have heard rumors of money given for the improvements of the course. is that true? if so how much? are you going to put in tee boxes? that would kick arse.
just curious.
crowley is well on it's way to having one of the best courses in north texas. sure the z is great but.... so many problems with the course. only due to the popularity of it. one thing that would be great out there in crowley is to get rid of those **** plants that burn. i have no idea what they are but i do not like them. ouch. course layout, (permanent) is great. deffinately the best i have ever seen out there.
great job getting the course ready for this past event. i look forward to playing out there soon.

Dre, I know it doesnt help now but I carry a lil hand sanitizer for those itchy grasses/plants. It burns for a second or so, then it goes away pretty quick.
And how dare u beat me by a stroke?
could have been worst.i could have whipped your tail like i did lee. sup lee
and you didn't have to change your name back shaun.
now i will have to call you shank hyzer from now on.
i think a better plan for thos darn plants is to remove them. then the fairways would be more dangerous, (easier to go o.b.) well at least on old hole 10. what ever it is now.
i do hate those plants, or they hate me. :(

Has anyone out there ever stumbled across a burgandy metal mini marker with Shaine Power engraved on it. I lost that mini the weekend JD, Kevin and I came out there to play in your mini before the Play it Again Open. Just wondering.
Also, are you still wanting one of the Ontario Rocs I am selling for the JAVA CLASSIC? Never heard back from you on that.

It has come to my attention that the rumors of Team Z's demise were premature. As I had discussed with the powers that be at Crowley, I would play for Team C because it bore that same initial as the one in my 1st and last name (just kidding, that would be too alternative life style for me). Back to reality, once you get to my age, you should know better than to take the word of the casual pan handler that you meet on the side of the road, and always go to the source. I still love you guys (Crowley), but as mentioned, my loyalty stands with team Z should they still be going as I had already told Capt C (whose 1st initial also looks like mine) a month ago that he could count on me. So back to gripping about traffic or hyzers with the bunch of you, I must get back to ironing the Z that goes on my cape.

Good day,
Charles Cox, man about town, with a question. Some of my buddies were planning on throwing their hat in the ring this year at team golf. They have never had a team before this year and were looking to go into the established field. Will they be able to do this or since they never played prior will they have to go to the emerging field? inquiring minds wish to know. thank you for your efforts regarding this life changing question.

The Circle R Page says: "Every course in Texas is invited to send a team. Teams may also represent schools, ultimate teams, or other organizations. Some courses send more than one team." I'd assume Funkytown classified as an organization...

Come on Brice! Nothing out of you or Crimson Kitner? No confidence in your boys this Saturday? Little Nicky will be so disappointed in you two. I might have to tell on you guys at: crimsontidecrybabies.com. I'm sure Nicky has a membership card. :D
BAMA WINS 41-17
It looks like Saben's plan worked. Keep the Fake orange panty dropper offense off the field and wear down the defense. Tennessee sucks worse than Notre Dame. I will bet that the varsity football team for Haltom City could beat the winey orange volunteers.
ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two of the worst losses in Vol history this season. Fat Phil might be looking for a new job at the end of the season.
Back on topic, the Vols suck!
Something funky that way comes tonight!

Charles Cox hit the ace last night on hole 14 through the tunnel. Charles walked home with enough money to purchase a new concrete tee pad in Crowley, but would not purchase one.
Again, I want to thank everyone that came out last night and I hope to see you all again next week.

I have officially registered for an Ice Bowl to be held in Crowley, nexy January. The event will be held on January 12, 2008. It will be the week after the Poison Ivy Open at Bear Creek, in Grapevine. This event is a great one and I am pleased to see it come back to Crowley. More details to come at a later date.

crowley is a good course, but i dont think it will ever be a championship course. or go on pdga national tour not w/o teepads any way. matt mayo talked about it being on the "super tour" what is that? on a scale of 1-10 I give it a 5

Who ever said there would be a super tour there?
Not with those baskets.
But there will be pads on every hole in due time.

I think it will be a pro caliber course once the tee pads are in. But I do agree with Chris that better baskets would make a big difference.

Thanks Stacia. It would have been awesome to face ZBOAZ in the finals. Maybe next year. Misty Smith played really well for our team. I believe she had 4 wins and 3 losses.

It was good playing with the seabolts. You guys are cool. If you make it down to San Antonio anytime make sure to hit up Bryan McClain Park for a nice test of your game. There's plenty of thorns and schull so you should be knocking in 50 ft putts left and right Dalton.
