Our club (Skylands DGC) will be keeping track of our weekly doubles events at various courses. I'll be keeping track of weekly results, pairings, earnings, etc.

We'd like to include our results and somehow reward players at our end of the year party.

I wanted to give out awards for record doubles rounds at each course, for player who've played the most events, most-often paired "team", or other things I havent yet thought of.

Any suggestions from previous experience on how to best set up this Doubles Series?

FYI: We generally pair random doubles by A and B players, and use a total of 6-7 courses (Warwick's 4 layouts *although sometimes a mixed layout*, Wolfe Woods w/ multiple teepads, Buzzy's, and occasionally Campgaw.)

Any insight and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

We run a points system for our weekly doubles, varying a little from year to year, but something like this:
* 1 or 3 points for attendance (depending on the year).
* 1 point for each stroke a pair is under par (playing on a short course where the winners are frequently 11 or 12 under a par of 54, and most pairs are at least 5 under).
* 5 points for 1st place, 3 for 2nd, 1 for 3rd.
* One CTP bonus hole each week, in which the winner gets 5 extra points, but no one can win twice in a season, so by late in the season the big arms are eliminated.

We reward points two ways:
* A trophy for the individual points champion, passed on each year to the new winner with all previous winner's names engraved.
* A championship round at the end of the season, in which the top 8 or 12 players (depending on year) qualify, and in which the club kicks $100 or so into the pot. Sometimes we seed these by point totals, sometimes randomly.

This system rewards attendance as well as accomplishment....and means that even if you're having a bad round, it's worth trying to get the last few holes for a few extra points.
