I was wondering if this scenario has happened to anyone else out there;
Here in Lexington we have 2 courses , Shillito which was installed @ 1998 and Veterans which was installed @ 2002. Both have Mach III and V baskets. Due to some issues that have come up recently, hole #18 at Veterans basket being stolen and the sleeve destroyed in the process and Shillito being adjusted to accommodate a paved walking trail, we needed to install new sleeves.
In the attempt to swap the practice basket for the missing #18 basket we discovered that the old basket didn't fit the new sleeve, surprise surprise. After contacting DGA I was told that they had changed the specs on their baskets 4 years ago and are out of stock on the old sleeves. I was given a few options; either get the new sleeves cut by a machine shop or replace all of the center poles (in which we would have to fabricate a bushing so that the hardware would not wobble) or ask around to see if anyone has any of the old sleeves (which I doubt they will give up since they are in the same boat).
Right now we have no idea what we are going to do , besides telling the Parks department they can't move the course (Shillito)around unless they want to spend more money.
Anyway I was wondering if any of you out there with older courses have run into this issue.
