One way to improve this website would be to improve the player profile/stats page. Here are my suggestions:

1. When you lookup a PDGA member, a player profile page would show up first. On the player profile you can list Bio, pic, location, current rating, top current year finishes, and other info. (I understand that there is a profile page that you can lookup when you select a discussion board member. This is more for discussion board issues.) The player profile page would be for anyone to see.

2. Then there would be a tab for player stats. I am fine with the current Stats page/format except for two things. I think the "Total" column is kinda useless without having a reference of some sort. I would rather see total with par score listed. In addition, have rated rounds listed.

3. Keep a rating history of prior rounds for all events, rather than having them drop off after a rating update. Allow this list to be sorted. If there was also a way to identify the same events, a viewer could see how a player has performed in a particular event year-after-year.

I would be interested to hear other ideas and comments.

Identifying the same event from year to year can be tricky because there are entirely different events with the same name, and small or large changes in the name of the same event. I think the only way an event could be linked to another event as the same event in the following year would be if the TD were to have the option to provide that information in the TD report, and then the program that reads TD reports was programmed to pick it up.

What I think would be nice, now that we have a lot more players on the Board who are not embarrassed by their ratings and stats, would be to make it two clicks to get from a poster's avatar to his PDGA stats. Used to be just click, click, back, back and you knew that the author of that moronic opinion was an intermediate rated pro master from Ohio. :D No offense to any actual intermediate rated moronic pro masters from Ohio intended, of course.

Yeah, that would be tricky. I've played the same event twice but the name changed this year.

One annoyance I find is that once a round has been dropped from the player's current rating, in order to find out a player's rating for a past event, you now have to drill into the event vs. looking it up on the player's stat page.

A few years ago they added the date & year you joined, and your world rating ranking to the stats page. Within a week someone complained that it was too personal and it was removed...amazing.

My longtime request is to see the double weighted rounds noted with an asterisk or something.

My longtime request is to see the double weighted rounds noted with an asterisk or something. that's an excellent idea! They do indicate which round(s) are not included in the rating, why not take the extra step to show which rounds are dbl wghted. I like it!
