Chuck,

Cody Miller just broke the World Record (pending Guinness verification) for number of disc golf holes played in 24 hours with 1638. He did it at Bobby Ford Park (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=6442). A ridiculously short 9-hole course that was perfect to use for the record. Holes range from 90' to 125' with occasionally a tree in the way. One hyzer hole, one anny hole, the rest are pretty much straight.

I figure typical SSA for this course has got to be almost right at 18. Maybe something like 18.1 worst case. A 1000-rated player is probably just as likely to Ace one of these holes as they are to get a 3. Thing is a 930 rated player is probably going to average 19, maybe 19.5 on that course. But it looks like a 19 would be rated ~966.

Disregarding the 13-hole minimum are there adjustments in the rating system to account for really short courses? Or does the system start to fall apart when it reaches a minimum like this?

We don't provide ratings for courses that come in less than 41.4 on average for that reason. In addition, that's why the recommendation for NT and Major courses is a minimum of 49 SSA so top players have enough room to legitimately shoot rounds rated above 1080.

Makes sense. Thanks.
