I enjoyed reading all the hype about the disc during the month or so leading up to the Worlds. Since then, I haven't read anything on the message board about the disc, how it flew, or how it held up to all the skeptical critics, etc.

Haven't seen the thing myself, but I have queried several players who did see and throw it at Worlds.

From what I gather, the rim design is significantly different than anything else that is currently available and requires a fairly significant grip modification. From what I've been told, it sounds like those who currently use the fan grip will have the least difficulty making the adjustment. Steve Avery reportedly threw one in the neighborhood of 680-690'.

I threw it, and it was very tough for me to throw - I threw over 500 in the worlds distance competition and only through it about 400 i would say. I thought it was very slow and very wierd to hold

Hasn't this disc been "Coming soon" for a couple years now?

When it comes out I'll try it, but don't rely on a disc that doesn't exist!

I held one, but didn't throw it. The plastic isn't the real plastic as they molded it from a proto mold, or so says Reese. The deal with this disc is that the rim is supposed to be shaped like a wing.

Whatever.

I think the real thing that affects the disc the most is where the inner rim meets the flight plate: it's not a sharp 90-degree angle like most discs. It's like if you put down a bead of caulking along that square edge and rounded it. Reminds me of the BlowFly there. There is something about doing that that makes the disc stay straighter as it slows down, but the tradeoff is a harder to grip disc. (No, the BlowFly is not a straight flyer. But that rounded thing seems to work with low-profile drivers.)

I'm not sure how they are planning to take over the world if they can't run the discs in the real plastic yet. That will make a bigger difference in flight than anything else.
