I'm always buying old new disc for my colletion but I see all kinds of old used discs for sale at high prices. What kind of gau ge do you determen the worth of a disc. I was always told 10% of new? Like a DGA Night Flyer frist year in fair shape?

All about the buyer and the seller...I watch, buy and sell on ebay somewhat frequently..

Studying the discs and what they are going for on average is the best start. I have alot of knowledge on how many were produced ( not that much, but enough to help :D), what people seem to always be buying and throwing, limited runs, numbered runs, stuff from the good ol beginnings (Midnight Flyers, Aero/Eagle's, Hookers, ect.), ROCS always, ect.

You never know what you may get for cheap or what you have to pay for. I haven't resold any of the discs I aquired for my collection, but have sold some amazing plastic.

The Night Flyer and Midnight Flyers are what I am currently working on, along with all the years of the Worlds Collection, but as for a NF and MF's...there is one huge fluctuation...sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don't.

EBay is a good gauge, but not exact. If there's a lot of good disc's on at one time price's go lower, fewer good disc's the higher the bids. Fair Night Flyer ranges b/t $30 & $60. Crazy thing is a 2001 CE Roc goes for nearly $200, twice what an original Innova Eagle does.

A disc is wirth what someone will pay for it.

And there you go........it still astounds me what some people are willing to pay for a disc. Don't get me wrong I have allot of collector's discs, but I can't recall paying more than $30 for ANY disc that I have (and I have quite a few that are worth $70+++++), but there are several out there that I would love to have and would probably throw out $100 or more to get them.

It just boils down to the fact that some people have more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ then they do sense /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

And when did you get those discs? Before the CE/ Ebay revoloution? when I started playing discs that were collectible like San Marino Rocs were around 10-20$ if you could find them, now your lucky to pay less then 25$.I sold my 1st run CE TL for 5$.That was before Ebay.

Without EBay I wouldn't have access to the old frisbee's that I buy / collect. And I wouldn't have had the opportunity to chat with some of the pioneers for frisbee. I.E. Victor Malafronte, Sheryl Newland, Dan Mangone, Bill Wright, .....

Some prices are ridiculus, many are fair. I just stay within my budget, and don't get into bidding wars. I've been collecting for 20+ years, I like the return on the SM Rocs when I paid $8 or less.

Just started playing two and a half years ago, when CE plastic was everywhere and the prices weren't through the roof yet. Don't get me wrong, allot of the plasic I have I was just in the right place at the right time to get them at the prices I did. I've also been very fortunate to meet some great people through disc golf that really hooked me up on more than one occasion. There are still allot of discs out there that I don't have that I really want........just haven't had the right opportunity to get them for what I'm willing to spend :D
