Opinions on the stability of these:
One of my friends claims that my 9x should be overstable, but when I throw it, I can have it go straight and then turnover to the right.

Your friend could throw a FLASH or a Stratus and have it go left for him. That doesnt mean it will go left for you :D
Id say all rocs are about the same unless its an Ontario roc. They are straight flyers. Most other rocs are overstable at first but break in really well. Some say 8 and 9 Times are more overstable but i throw Wasps and BUZZZs so it doesnt matter to me :D

I'd say listen to someone who THROWS ROCS! /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
I have experience throwing regular "rancho" DX ROCs, special triple ring ontario ROCs, a super sweet (and super stable) 10X ROC, and a 2002 CE and 2003 CE USDGC sponsorship ROCs.
But speaking of only the DX versions. Today's Rancho ROC is not as stable as the 10X. The Rancho breaks in more quickly to a turnover disc. Older ontarios (of the triple ring variety) have a very meaty flight plate and also tend to hold their original flight pattern quite well. BUT, I would still say that an ontario dx would break in more quickly than my 10X.
Perhaps your 8 or 9X was USED before you threw it and someone else already broke it in?
JJ and Mad Dawg would be 2 great sources of info on ROCs IMO as they both carry loads of them!

What the question was supposed to be is...
What is the order of stability for these discs.

yeah...the 9x was broken in
I am throwing them more instead of wasps.

I was speaking more of KC Rocs since he asked about 8 9 10 and 11 times. Again it doesnt matter how they fly for me because im sure i dont throw the same as you but i do know how rocs fly and how they beat up. I have thrown and do own alot of Innova even though i dont have any in my bag.
Rocs were the best disc in my bag till i found the Wasp and the BUZZZ. :D

You should put "Roc" in the title if you are asking about Rocs. I was trying to figure out if you meant T-birds or Rocs. :)

Is that better?

ahhh...as my students would say...
my bad yo
9x's and 10x's are the most overstable of the ones i've thrown, then 11x rocs, then rancho rocs, then san marinos and ontarios. i'm not for sure on 8x KC's or any of the CE's.

So you are saying that the 9x is the least overstable.

I thought the 10x was the same mold as the 8x?
I have never thrown 8x or 9x, but for me the 11x is alot more overstable then my 10x's.

i think 8x and 11x [and 03-04 ce] are a slight mold variation from standard rancho [ to make them very slightly less overstable]. i am sure someone will straighten me out if i am wrong.

They are all from the Rancho mold. Just different plastic composure.

I seem to recall a post by Davei about six months ago that implied that there are three (?) Rancho mold variants, the main difference being the shape of the nose (blunt or non-blunt). I also seem to recall a follow-up post by Davei to the effect that the 10x are from the blunt mold, and "regular" (11x and DX) Ranchos are from the non-blunt mold, and an earlier post in another thread that Innova switched back to the 8x mold from the 10x mold following discussion with Innova Team members about what they were looking for in a Roc.

I think there are only the 8x and the "regular" Rancho molds. There's some trick to identifying them, like the line on the nose where the two halves of the mold come together is either higher or lower on the 8x molded discs.

the 8x mold was also used for 11x and 03 ce i beleive

Rhett, there are three Rancho molds/variants. Here's the post by Dave (http://www.pdga.com/msgboard/showflat.php?Board=Equipment&Number=183125&Searchpage=0&Main=42323&Search=true&#Post183125) I was thinking of.

I only throw 10s, and they are stable out of the box, but as I beat them in, they get flippy. It takes a long time to beat them in though, which is why they roc (pun intended)

Same here nothing but 10X Rocs also. Stable pigs.
