I need one or two more baskets to make my own personal course a success, does anyone know hoe to get good baskets for cheap?

Yup,look for "Gary Welder" on ebay. I have a couple of his baskets and like them a lot. I paid up to $60 apiece plus $20 shipping. They are pnly single chain and I painted all the steel yellow so I could see them.(Old eyes)

Yeah, believe me RedHead, I'm not accusing you...but...

I just thought you should beware that others might leap to the same circumstantial conclusion:

11 baskets were stolen in Grapevine very recently. In fact, I read the email alert concerning the stolen baskets less than 5 minutes before reading your post.

In the email alert, the person felt that the baskets were probably stolen form somebody out of town looking to install their own private course (too hard to fence that many baskets without raising some red-flags).

Tulsa is only 300 miles from Grapevine...close enough for a quick U-haul truck run, but far just far enough away...

Add that to the fact that you appear to have accumulated 'almost enough' baskets to complete a course (one would have to guess at least 14-15 baskets), which would be a sizeable investment if obtained legally. It would logically follow that you already knew how to obtain baskets at a good price.

Again..not pointing fingers, just filling you in on why some might find your post a little fishy because of the timing.

Please be aware the The Red haired One is no thief. this is a young man from Tulsa that I know personally and I would never question him about any basket thefts anywhere. We have had numerous baskets stolen in Tulsa over the last three years also. It sucks BIG TIME!

But Andrew (The Red Haired One) would be one of the last people I would suspect. He comes to the local tournies with his Dad. I would suspect myself before him. Just thought you should know. Not that my recomendation means anything, but he is just a good kid that is full of excitement for the game. :D

If you think that post looks sort of fishy... look at the post by PDGA Spam for 9 baskets without the poles (the poles fasten into the sleeves in the ground)... they are also located somewhere in eastern Texas and the person doesn't even have their name listed...

His post is on page 242 of Trader's Row-

"I have a set of 9 baskets that I would like to sell. I bought them from someone who had them on a private course, but decided to sell some of his land so he didn't need them any more. He also said that he wanted the poles so he could put up a fence along the new border of his land, so actuly I have 9 baskets and 9 chain tops
I don't know how much the shipping would be, but they are located in east Texas.
Please respond with SIRIOUS offers only. "

Not saying that he had anything to do with the stolen ones but it just sounded a little fishy...

I, for one, have not gotten that spam. Please give more details. Who is it from? I know you said they did not give a name, but what is the contact info given? We should follow up on this. Actually, it should be forwarded to Grapevine PD to follow up on.

I would doubt that Andrew had any knowledge of any stolen baskets in Texas. I feel, in his case, it is just unfortunate timing on his part.

But, I would definately be looking into those tops and bottoms for sale in East Texas. The timing on that one is way off base.

I am not saying this guy is innocent, because there is definitely something very fishy. But I was wondering if these baskets were the ones with the permanent collars or the locking collars? If the only thing stopping them from taking the pole was a master lock... you gotta be one stupid thief to not get a set of bolt cutters and take the poles too. Just a thought.
