I think they are great starting putters, they were my first ones too. Id only use them for putting, tho.

I prefer 10x and Pro Line Aviars, but Magnets and Wizards should do the trick as well.

I have ALWAYS putted with the Innova Aviar Putter. I love it, it feels good in my hands and sticks the chains like no other, and Ive tried ALOT of putters....

Just try a few different ones and see what works best for you, good luck!

I started with an omega ss but it couldn't handle the summer heat here in Texas. The more I played the more I figured out that a stiffer putter was better for me (it may not be this way for you or others).

Ive tossed omegas before... but i liked the firmness of every other putter for tosses over 20 ft. In the future you may want to try a avair or a wizard.

I use a big bead Aviar made out of the Omega SS plastic for putts under ~50 ft & a stiff 10x KC Aviar for ~50-200 ft. That combo of putters works the best for me.

I really like my Omega SS, only because my main putter is a SB DX Aviar. The JK Aviars are as soft as the Omega SS but unfortunately they have the big bead. The Omega is the same mold as the SB Aviar, just different plastic. Once the temp goes back above 50 degreess I switch back the the aviar because the omega is too soft.

I do use a BB Aviar (proline) for approaches under 150ft or down hill shots under 300ft.

I love the "melty" feel of my SS JK Aviar when it gets over 90 in VA!!!

Don't listen to these bozos...I've used Omega SS putters for years (even in the Texas heat) and wouldn't putt with anything else...and yes, I've tried them

The bottom line...use what you feel most comfortable with...putting is 90% mental, and how a disc feels in your hand, and how confident you are with it, is the key.

omegas are good putters, but you'll find most people who used them in the past have moved on to other putters now (myself included) for one reason or another. granted, use what works for you. but if you like the omega and are looking to try other similar putters, I'd recommend the Aviar-x and the SuperSoft Wizard. My problem with the omega SS's was how floppy they got in the heat, and they really lost their stability on long putts. But if it works for you, then keep throwing them until they dont (even if that time never comes )

Just to note that the comments on the softness/floppiness do not apply to the recently (re-)released Pro plastic Omega AP. If you're a fan of the SB Aviar, or gave up on the Q-Omega because it was too slick and too prone to spit, you owe it to yourself to pick up a Pro Omega and give it a try.

are those the real grippy ones, Felix?

Dec 28 2004, 03:43 PM
Chase, they're very similar to Pro Aviars in grippiness, durability, etc. (My guess is that Pro Aviars and Pro Omega APs use the same plastic. I have one of the test run of Omega APs that was run in the first run Pro Aviar plastic, and it feels identical to my production run Pro Omegas.)

Millinnium sent me one in a package I think. I like it; flies like a used small bead. The one I got had a real sharp bottom, much like the flashing on Pro Aviar 1st runs. Thanks Felix.

I start using a supergrip over my my big bead and I have to say. I really like how the supergrips feel.

I thought I had found a freak omega ss at a store that carries about 12 discs all year long. at retail temperature, it flexed in my hand and was the same feeling as innova pro plastic. I thought, "this is already broken in...new," as it drooped on the display.
that disc is a true anhyzer putter for all my needs...real pretty.
then i found more...is this some kind of strange breeding ritual between millenium and pro plastic or is it just the tequilla? /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
