Today at play it again, I found a innova disc that is opaque blue in a "gummy" type plastic. It has a small star stamp like on my sidewinder disc. The edge of the disc almost matches a DX spider that I have. Any ideas on it? Quantities? Age? thanks.

First run CE Spider. You said it was opaque. Is it "pearlescent"? I only saw clear and pearlescent when they came out.
There weren't that many made with the small star stamp. I found that the clear ones flipped a little more at high speed but somehow managed to land at about the same place as the pearl ones.
It is closer to clear than to pearlecent.

than it has to be close to 170 grams.. 174+ seems to be more pearl and the lighter weights 169-173 seems to be clear. Nice disc!

I guess you meant to say "translucent" instead of "opaque". :)
C.E. Spider, first run.
There weren't that many made with the small star stamp.
Rhett, do you know of any non-tournament CE Spiders that had a different stamp? I've never seem anything besides the star stamp, and was told by an employee at Innova East that they only ran the small star stamp.

I lost it. Please email for my address.
Quantities? Age?
The quantity would be fairly low since there was only one run of CE Spiders. If memory serves, they came out shortly before Innova dropped the moniker "Champion Edition" in favor of "Proline," which would have been Sept/Oct 2002.

They came out right before the last tourney at Ski Sunrise...hold on....7/13/02-7/14/02. They weren't very hot in September as no one wanted them, but a little while after that it seems like everyone started clamoring for one.
I don't know what the numbers were or if any were stamped with anything other than small stars. The plastic isn't true CE. It seems to have a lot of that taffy-blend in the clear ones, reminiscent of those gummy Gazelles that came out when the CE Rhynos came out.
wow. and i thought i knew too much about discs!!!
Rhett lives in InnovaLand, of course he knows whats up with innova. :D

Y'all just happen to be asking about discs that are from the period of when I was trying to be an eBay speculator. :) I was acutely aware of what was coming out and what was selling.
It didn't help in predicting what would be hot next, though. :o
