The Augusta Disc Golf Association will once again be hosting a silent auction in conjunction with the Hall of Fame Classic NT Event to raise money for the Disc Golf Hall of Fame. Our inaugural year auction raised over $2,300 for the HOF. I will be periodically posting a description of some of the more collectable donations on this thread.
We kindly ask all disc golfers to donate an item or item(s) to this very worthwhile fundraiser. Money raised will be used by the HOF to fund a new website and help create the new permanent home for the Hall of Fame/Steady Ed Headrick museum at the PDGA National Disc Golf Center.
Auction donations can be mailed to:
Augusta Disc Golf Association
1321 Milledge Road
Augusta, GA 30904
Please include your name so that we may properly give you credit for your donation at the event.
To start the 2005 auction off, I am personally donating my most prized disc from my collection......
Description: This very rare INNColor CE Roc is one of only 16 in existence and was given to me by tournament chairman, Harold Duvall and event director, Jonathan Poole for serving as competition director of the USDGC. Only 8 of these discs are currently in circulation and you cannot buy one anywhere. It features a Matt Peckham photograph of hole 1 at the Winthrop University Gold Course. It is 1 of only 16 INNColor Champion Rocs ever produced. My guess is that there will never be another opportunity for you to acquire one of these very special discs.

You must be present at the silent auction to bid on this item. Check this thread often for a description of additional auction items.

Brian Graham

You would have gotten a lot more on Ebay than you will at the tournament.

Due to an extraordinary amount of interest in the Hall of Fame auction, I am currently trying to come up with an efficient way in which we can accept auction bids on some of the more valuable collectors items via e-mail or telephone. Our on-site internet capabilities will be somewhat limited and it is pertinent that whatever system we use be fair to everyone involved. Anyone have any suggestions?
Jack White has pledged to donate his very last wings and rings Roc. Keep those auction donations coming. It is for a very good cause.
Auction donations can be mailed to:

The online or telephone auction would have to be held concurrently with the auction in Augusta so that people who are physically present can bid on the items as well. E-Bay would limit the auction to people who are sitting at home in front of their computers and might possibly discourage people from attending. The intent of the auction is to raise money for the Hall of Fame but also to increase attendance at the tournament, auction and other planned festivites in Augusta. I am sure that we will come up with an acceptable plan to accomplish our goals and give everyone an opportunity to support the Hall of Fame by bidding on the nice items we will have.

Brian,
Can we get a complete list of items that will be included in the auction? I would like to submit a not to exceed $XXX bid on some items. Then the auctioneer could keep me in the bidding unitil either I win the item, or it goes over my bid amount.

That'd be a tempting offer, but then again, 4-5 2001 ROCs might bring in more at auction than that single disc.

What do you mean, "just" an SE Roc? :D
My guess is it's either a Proto KC or Proto Super Roc. Production SE Rocs have "Special Edition Super Roc" in the bar rather than "Champion Discs" and say "Mid-Range Disc" instead of "The Choice of Champions for Disc Golf."

My understanding is that the Roc above is the predecessor to the KC Roc. My stash is almost gone (only 3 left :() as I have given most of them away as a gift of thanks to local disc golfers who have made significant contributions to the sport here in Augusta.

Then that makes it a Proto Rainbow ROC. This is good as it increases the value of the item over the Proto SE ROC.

Is there a way to either post it here or PM, what is all up for the Silent Auction
Thanks
Brian Graham has asked me to assist him with the Hall of Fame Charity Auction.
We will be accepting email bids on select items. I don't know the complete list but it will definitely include the INNColor Champion Roc.
I will post the exact items sometime tomorrow along with auction rules and the email address. Please note that all emails sent to anything other than the email address given out tomorrow will be deleted.
Thanks,
Dave Gentry
Do you want to win this Roc? It's only 1 of 16 in existence and 1 of 8 in circulation!
