We are approaching the time for the 2005 Memphis Dogwood Classic Tournament. Last year we broke the 200 in attendance barrier. Pretty good for a Southern National Tournament! We hope to continue that this year.

Misc.: The Pro Shop will be open at the Bud Hill Club House. Also on sale will be SNDG bag tags and Memphis Disc Golf Club Membership / Bag Tags. There will also be a limited number of custom stamped tournament discs and other merchandise available.
This will be the first MDGC sanctioned tournament played at Edmund Orgill Park in Millington. This is a new course laid out and constructed by members of the MDGC. It is long and windy. It looks wide open, but looks are deceiving. Players are advised to get in a practice round before the tournament because it is different from all other courses in the Memphis area.

Pre-registration: Pre-registration is encouraged. Send Check or Money Order payable to the Memphis Disc Golf Club to Gary Wagoner at above address. Even if you are pre-registered, you must check in with the TD to confirm your attendance and fill out your card. Please print legibly and include the following information with your registration:

ACCOMMODATIONS
Lodging: There will be primitive camping at Bud Hill. Sites are first come, first claimed. Porta Potties will be provided, but that�s about it.

Best Western (901)873-2222. (7726 Hwy 51. N.) They will give discounted rate of $62.00 per night plus tax if they ref. Disc Golf Tournament and tell them what the discounted rate is when making reservations.

Millington Days Inn (901)872-3335. (7763 Hwy 51 N.) Room rates are $69.00 for a single, and $79.00 for a double plus tax. If more than 2 adults per room, there will be a $5 charge for each additional adult.
All of these hotels are in Millington relatively close to Edmund Orgill Park.
The Shelby Forest Cabins may already be taken, so you had better reserve them early. They have 44 Tent/RV spots that are first come first serve. There are also some reserved spots that may be available. All of these spots have electricity and water. The Park phone number is 901-876-5215
Meals: Danny Daniels will be cooking Friday night and Saturday night. Danny will also be cooking lunch at Bud Hill on Saturday, so if your first or second rounds are at Bud Hill, that would be the place to eat. The customary donation is $5. The Shelby Forest General Store will be taking orders for lunch on Saturday right after the Players meeting. Otherwise, you�re on your own.
Park Access Fee: The park will be enforcing the current access fee of $3/car per day. However, they have given us a special deal for $1.50/car per day. You can pay for and pick up the car mirror tags when you register or check in with the TD. If you are staying the cabins or campsites at the Park, it will be covered in your fee. The access fee may be subject to change without notice, but the two day pass for the price of one will definitely be available
TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
End of Registration Registration will end at exactly 8:45 Saturday Morning. No further registrations will be accepted after that time. The next 15 minutes will be used to audit the Leader Board Cards against the computer log before starting the Players Meeting.
Player�s Meeting: The Player�s Meeting will begin at the course pavilion at Shelby Forest at exactly 9:00 a.m. Attendance is mandatory. Maps to the courses will be available at the TD�s table.
Tee Times: Tee off at Shelby Forest will be at exactly 10:00 a.m. Tee off at Bid Hill and Edmund Orgill Park will be exactly 15 minutes after that to give those groups time to get there. Tee time Saturday afternoon will be exactly 2:00 p.m. for all courses.
Tee off Sunday morning will be exactly 9:00 a.m. for all courses. There will be no Player�s Meeting on Sunday. We will be playing the two 18 hole courses at the Forest, the 18 hole course at Edmund Orgill Park and the 18 hole course at Bud Hill. Everyone will play 3 of the 4 courses. No one will play all 4 courses during the tournament. No baskets will be moved between rounds. This tournament is not PDGA sanctioned but all PDGA rules will apply. The 2 meter rule (lodged in a tree) will not be in effect. Out of bounds, mandos and alternate T-Pads will be covered at the Player�s Meeting.
