Me and my friend, who are PDGA members, both recieved a Wright Life catalog. None of us have subscribed to this. Has the PDGA "given" them our address? If so, not cool.

The PDGA asks whether you want to be on a mailing list or not on your membership form. Perhaps you missed this (near bottom)?

Contact the PDGA office to make sure you're not on it if you think that's where your name was acquired for Wrightlife.

Maybe we didn't read some fine print on our membership.

I don't know who the PDGA sells their membership lists to, but did you check the box on the second to the last line of the 2005 PDGA Membership & Merchandise Form that reads: "Check here if you DO NOT want your name or contact information to appear on lists sold to disc-golf related parties."? If you didn't, then there is a chance that the Wright Life got you name and address from the PDGA.

They should just have it if you want it just check it. Not a Yes or No question.

That way if it is not checked you won't get it.

It's a standard industry practice to default for being on mailing lists and check to remove your name, especially for list sales to vendors of products in the category. Nothing sinister here.

My friends got me the membership for my birthday. I suppose they didn't opt to keep my address private. I'll contact whom it may concern.

Just because it's an industry standard doesn't mean it isn't sinister. ;)

I thought the catalog was one on the nicest I've seen. Good to have all the manufacturers discs in one catalog. Easy to compare X vs Y drivers.

Most organizations consider it a "customer service" function to provide additional information on products in the same field. In addition, it generates bonus income for the organization in which you are a member. For our energy efficient members, mailings also provide fuel for wood burning stoves. :DNothing sinister.

I have been getting them for years.

I even was getting them delivered to my store because one of my employee ordered some stuff to be delivered there. I assume the new owners still get the flyers.
