As the title states, I'm thinking about joining, but was wondering if it would be good for this year and next, or what date that takes effect.

Thanx

If you join right now you WILL have to re-new in January '06. I'm not sure of the exact date, I think it's after October 1st, when first time members carry through the next year. Maybe someone else can share the exact date.

A local that's putting on a tourn. in october said that it would carry over, maybe he meant if you register that day. I'm still curious of the exact date.

I'm pretty sure it's Septmeber that carries over, but if I were you I would use the "Contact" link above and send a question to the Administrator to be sure.

I got the official word from PDGA, it is Sept. 1st.

Now I'm wondering, if I send in my application on the 1st, if I'll save the $5 dollars for a tournament on the 10th?

I think you will either be able to save a copy of the receipt, or get something back from the PDGA with your number on it or show up on the online members search prior to receiving the physical card. The TD should let you play as a member (no $5 fee) if you have something that shows your PDGA number.

A quick call to headquarters confirms that a new member, joining online, may use the email receipt that they get to prove membership. Just have the TD enter "new" in the member number box on the report and Dave Gentry will get fill in the member's number when he receives the report, post-event.

I give a soft card to people who come to my tournaments with an online receipt so that they have something a little more managable to carry with them until they get their real card.
