Anyone playing in Japan. I play at Uminonakamich Park here in Kitakyushu. Would like to help promote disc golf here, and in the japan area. If any one has any suggestions please feel free to chime in.

whats up?
i live in Kyoto where there is no disc golf course...
space is so limited here, without a car it is really difficult
to get to a course even if you have one near you...
I was very lucky that I got to Play in the Kyoto Open which
was actually 1 hour by car outside of Kyoto and on a temporary
course. Really beautiful though. The best thing to do is play in
one of the tournaments and stay saturday night near the course.
A very expensive weekend but well worth it...good luck
peace out

1988 Open World Champion John Ahart is currently in Japan; he just won the Aso Open.

He's training a Nipponesse team to compete @ USDGC; he should be 'home' this October.

John's a super guy. It'll be cool to see what his team will do.
Will they throw 150-class discs, that's what I want to know. ;)

they will definitely throw 150 class
to tell the truth though...
\i got used to the weight really quickly and
maybe the only thing that messed with me
was the putting...good luck...

sorry
i read the previous post and now I realize what you are asking...
talked to a few guys who played overseas and they
definitely don't throw those light a-s-s discs...They
need every advantage they can get...rock hill is a super long
course compared to japanese courses..
myers (again)
If they DON'T throw 150, does that mean they're PRACTICING, now, with "high-performance" discs? Technically, that's cheating, over there! :o:D

Hi, I am trying to find an email for a new friend I believe was from Japan. We met him at the Worlds in flagstaff in August and he befriended my young son Andrew. He wanted the photo we took, but I lost his email. His name is (excuse the spelling) Kiwatchi. Not sure if that is the first or last name, but that is what he went by. Anyone with info please email me at
[email protected] Thank you <font color="red"> </font> <font color="red"> </font> <font color="red"> </font>

I'm going to be in Japan on business next week, but I'm taking a few days off to do whatever I feel like. Never been to Japan. Definitely packing a few 150-class discs for the trip. I am flying in to Nagoya on tuesday and working for a day, then heading to Tokyo for a few personal days. Where should I play?

Steve brinster and I got to visit the AMAZING country of Japan last month for the Japan Nationals. It was truly a sacred trip and i highly encourage anyone who wants a cultural disc golf experience to venture over there for the Japan Open in 2008. The Hero Staff is extraordinary, so kind and generous. Steve and I had an unforgettable experience from Tokyo to the Nasu highlands. The disc golf course was the most beautiful piece of land i have ever played on. i will try to post some pics and welcome all to view. The food was divine, the people were so friendly, and the disc golf facility and tournament were first class. Arigatoo gozaimasu to Shimbo San and John Ahart for being the most incredible hosts.
