Friends -- after 8 years of struggle, the SF Parks Commission meets this Thursday to decide whether to make disc golf a permanent feature of Golden Gate Park. We have leanred in the past few days that Parks staff are recommending that the current provisional course be yanked and *maybe* be relocated to another park in the southern part of the city. We cannot allow this to happen -- if you live in the Bay Area we are asking that you come to the hearing which will take place Thursday, October 20th at 2pm in City Hall in Room 416. Please bring as many people as possible -- friends, family members, co-workers, neighbors.

If you don't live around here or can't make the meeting we're asking people to do two simple things:

CALL THE PARKS DEPARTMENT:
We are asking everyone to take a moment and call the Parks Dept. at 415-831-2700 and simply tell whoever answers that you want the course to be expanded to a full 18 holes and made permanent. This will literally take 20 seconds - they will thank you for your input and add it to their tally of comments for or against and that's that. We all know what happens when we put things off until later, so PLEASE make this call TODAY.

SEND A LETTER TO THE PARKS DEPARTMENT:
If you have not already done so, please SEND A LETTER to the Parks Commission. Simply click: here (http://www.sfdiscgolf.org/feedback/feedback.html)

Thanks for your continued support,
