There are two enhancements to the web site that I think would have much value in listing upcoming tournaments.
a) Have a link in the tournament listing to the course directory listing. I realize that for some tournaments there would need to be multiple courses listed.
b) Expand the advanced search to be able to search by radius (similar to the course search feature) rather than just by state.

a) good idea, and possibly not that hard to do. i'll check into it.

b) in november we will be releasing a new version of the course directory that uses the google-map stuff (see my siggie). the current version will still be the main directory, and the new version will run alongside. the new version has a radius feature, and some other quite cool stuff.

For b) I was referring to being able to search for tournaments by radius. Once the tournament entries have links to their courses, the next step would be a radius search for the tournaments within x miles.

hmmm... i see wot ya mean now... thats a mighty fine idea! lemme think about how we could integrate it into the tour/directory pages.

The side benefit would be a planning tool for the Tour Director and potential TDs who could check the radius to make sure it meets the guidelines for sanctioning events within a certain radius.

A link I'd like to see on the tour page is for tournament information. The page could include all of the important info (schedules, fees, and contact info) related to the tournament. Quite a few use the message board but this info gets lost sometimes on the larger threads and isn't easy for casual message board users to find.

I know there is already a tournament website link but I think that the non-techie TDs would be able to load info, like they do scores, easier than update a website.
