I just got back from my family reunion in Palm Springs, CA. Thoroughly disspointed to find only one 9 hole course in 29 Palms. Then I was in Redlands, only to find NOTHING until Azusa. Palm Springs is an IDEAL DG location, especially for Fly 18? Anything happening that way?

Oh yea, I could not believe that Rancho Cucamonga only had a 6 basket practice course to offer. Innova town doesn't have a course???

Just curious on why my old stomping grounds doesn't seem to be interested in our great sport?

Not interested? How many PDGA members are in SoCal?

When land sells for 300k per acre, its tough to plant a DG course.

We are working at it indeed, but land use in these parts is a costly and time-consuming process. There are plans afoot in Redlands, Yucaipa and reportedly Palm Desert is close to getting something in the ground. The Innova folks would love to do something substantial in Rancho and will if the opportunity arises (and the city doesn't put condos/malls on every single square inch of remaining dirt).

Now I know a little piece of property in a nearby canyon, removed but fairly close to two interstates, ripe for a world class 27 holes with elevation changes and views galore. If you've got a spare $1.5 million lying around, I think we're in business... /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

NICE! I actually went to Yucaipa High School. There's some REALLY nice parks there. Lots of elevation change and views within the public parks. Redlands too, especially Kimberly Crest...

You also may want to contact Reese Swinea from Fly 18.

Just a thought from a different prospective.
