This is a good game. Take a course and add up the best score you ever got on each hole, put them together into one theoretical round, and see what your best posible theoretical round would be.

Every hole you aced, give yourself an ace. Every eagle, etc.

Me at Hyzer Creek (19 holes):

2213222133323222342 = 44

par

3333333343334333543 = 62

I would get a -18!!

Best of all the people I know of added together, including doubles.

2212222122313222342 = 40

That's -22. But the actual course record is only -7!!!

It's funny that nobody ever got a 3 on the last par 4 hole, and one person (me) got a 3 on the par 5 hole. Freaky.

I have birdied every hole on the courses I usually play.

both lewisville
both Carrollton
McKinney
BB Owen

But I do have an ace at GreenBelt and McKinney
so they both have 37's.

(my other aces are at courses that I don't play often.

Autobaun in Garland

2,3,3,2,3,3,3,2,1,2,2,3,2,3,2,2,2,2 = 42

My best round is 7 down 47 out there.

It is a great course with horible baskets.

Arlington
2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,3 = 37

I have hit both holes #1 and #3 for birds once each.

This is from the regular tee boxes to the long pin posisions, (although I think there is a new long possition for #3 I have not played yet)

My favorate hole to birdie is the Texico hole, in the long position I have birdied it several times in tournaments. (actually I have fewer birdies in the short that I can think of) The hole is just at my roler distance.

BTW, holes #1, 17, 14, 12 I can only reach with a roller. I have more birds on #17 in the long than in the short too.

I have 3'd all the champion holes out there but have 2'd champion 17.

At MacGregor Park in Houston...
222 222 222 222 222 322 = -17

#16 can be birdied with a good roller or a RH boom over the bayou fence - had putts at it before. I have birdied 9 of the first 10 before in a league round, finished at -11. The back 8 (the course is split 10 and 8 with the park road inbetween) is harder but I have come through there at -6 before as well, finished at -11 then too.

You better work on this dude, if your "theoretical best possible round" does not beat the course record you need to work on your game. I saw a guy get a 57 at North Calais (Pete Johnson in maybe 2002 vermont states?) and I think that might be the course record. Maybe. I don't get to vermont too often.

45 over is more believable /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Justin Bunnell's (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/playerstats.php?PDGANum=20827) course record 58 from the longs is crazy good. you'll never shoot a perfect 18 holes at a course like Idlewild. It can't be done. 53 is the doubles record (Heeren-Bunnell)

Chris, how would you deuce hole 2 long and 16 long?
(describe the disc and type of shot, thanks)
Also, why aren't you giving yourself a 3 on 18? It's an eagle, but you could do it.

my best total playing the longs = 65

my best total (arrived at counting my personal best on each hole for every one of the maybe 200 rounds i've played on the course):
2, 3, 3, 2, 3, 4, 2, 3, 2, 3, 3, 2, 4, 4, 3, 3, 2, 4 = 52
i've missed a 20 footer for a 3 once on 18 and 13 and 14 long are three-able too, but i've yet to do it. My 2 on hole 1 was not really a putt; it was closer to a fairway ace. I'd say my theoretical best round there would be maybe 50

the thing about a course like Idlewild Longs with an SSA of 67 is that there are just too many opportunities for imperfection to string together 18 perfect holes.

I dueced 2 and 16 from the short pin. I would say ducing 16 from the long would be impossible if I hadn't seen Justin do a spike hyzer on his 3rd shot from the same spot where my drive landed that just spiked down infront of the chains ( I guess it's possible . . . maybe . . ) And 2 can be duecable with a huge spike anhyzer out over the trees and the pond. Tyler Horne did it with a Flash and put it pin high 40' right of the basket ( I have definitly never done that ) 18 is also 3able, I've seen Justin, Matt, and Tyler all 3 it. I just never have done it :(

AviarX
Jan 08 2006, 10:54 PM
Chris, that would be one risky shot going for a 2 on hole 2 long, but i can see Tyler doing it. 16 long would also be spectacular. I had a putt from about 20 feet for an eagle three on 18 at the KY States singles, but choked and hit chains, but fell out :o that is the closest i have ever gotten -- my first two shots were long and perfect (okay lucky).

what disc would you throw if you were going to try and deuce hole 2 long? a Pro Starfire... ?
