On a full color disc- like an Inncolor-

Thanks for the help ladies. If you have any great ideas, PM me cause I could use some inspiration!!!

Jan 31 2006, 04:31 PM
Hi...

Check out the link below. This is an Inncolor CFR that I had a woman disc golfer (Inge vanOostveen) design for the 2006 International Women's Cup! It raised a few eyebrows at Innova, but for the most part they seemed pretty stoked about it!

I didn't vote in your poll because I couldn't pick 2 options! I think a disc for women should be women orientated in design, but have an edge to it that makes guys want to get in on the fundraising!

Cheers
Carrie

PS the final design has a 3/4" red band around it!

In reference to the International Women's Cup...
(We have an event here in Huntsville the same weekend so I wouldn't be able to attend.) Looks like it'll be a great event and thanks for running it!

However...
(I understand that a woman designed this image for a disc so with all due respect...)

You may have guys buying that one but not many women... so who is the disc really for?

I hope I am not going to offend anyone about this but I think that hotstamp is awful. I am a female disc golfer and I think that is offensive personally. Would you want your kids to have a disc with that on it? I mean the tourney is for all female divisions right?

I hope I am not going to offend anyone. But I think that design is kind of offensive. I mean the tourney is open to all female divisions right? Would you want your Jr daughter to have one of those?

On the other side I would have to agree that it being a "fundraiser" disc that it would be more directed for the guys to buy them which would bring more money to the tourney. But I think it could have been not so offensive to women.

Feb 08 2006, 03:15 PM
it seems more "just plain bad" than offensive to me...look at the shadow(is that a frog in a skirt?)

Feb 08 2006, 04:24 PM
Cheers! ...people's opinions of the disc don't offend me at all! I knew what I was getting into when I sent the final design away!

Glad to see this stirred up some conversation! I agree, the design is not for everyone, but they are almost all sold, so some players (men & women) out there like it! There is never going to be a time when everything will please everybody! That is why we have an opinion!

Keep it coming!
Carrie

I could see my hubby buying one, but I would not buy that, even if I played in the tourney. That's my 2 cents.

Vinnie, it's Canada with a capital C. We still on for who's event has the biggest purse? If so, what are we wagering?

Vinnie, it is Canada with a capital C but you are entitled to your opinion on the design. We still have that bet for which event will have the biggest payout? If so, what is the wager-our stamped disc versus yours? Right now we are at $3,000 added cash, you?

Oh, Vinnie loves a challenge.

Personally, I like both designs and will be buying some of each.

Feb 09 2006, 02:35 PM
Personally I like the design...so much that I bought 2, and I am a female discer. So the design might seem a little risky for some of you. Well hats off to the KDGC and Carrie (IWC TD) This is a ground breaking event for Canadian Disc Golf and will be an awsome tourney for the Women in our sport. If the disc gets people talking about the event...so be it. The KDGC is continually making advancements to promote the sport of disc golf in BC and in Canada. I hope that more people acknowledge this and are positive to the work they are doing. Thumbs up to the KDGC!!!!

In Utah, we are taking alot of the added cash and putting together some unbelievable player's packs. We are also planning to give PDGA memberships as prizes in each of the AM divisions. Since we don't have many open women (we actually don't have any), it makes sense for us to make it a high value event for all players. Having a huge amount of added cash for the open purse would do little to grow women's disc golf in our area. Maybe in a few years we can join your added cash side bet. I personally think it is going to be great for a REC woman to spend $7 on registration and get a player's pack worth $40 - $60, and then have a great tournament experience with the opportunity to get their PDGA membership paid.

no its a small c from my neck of the woods :Donly reason canada is not a part of the U,S, is why would someone want a place where its ALWAYS freezing....... :D
SHIrT aside....canada( I almost made a big C) is a great place ...I love it when I was there. I am very excited the world of DG is embrassing all women events. But I agree with what that feller said from Utah ( the place canada can have :D) Added cash to the pros is not as benifical to all divisions.
I 'll bet my disc against yours that the % of added payout verses entry we smoke your lil maple leave.
You know the the bald eagle uses the maple tree for an out house :D

At least your national bird is alive in Canada, unlike it's extinct status everywhere in the US except Alaska. In fact I fed a couple when I was ice fishing yesterday and got to watch them from 20 feet away. :)
So Texas is ducking the challenge then? :oWe'll be treating our AMs just as fine as our FPO's don't worry about us.
BTW, we SOLD out our fundraisers, so you can add another $750 for player packs on the AM side.
Where you at Vinnie?

Totally off topic, but the bald eagle was proposed for removal from the US endangered/threatened species list in 1999. There's been some recent action, and a press release today related to the proposed delisting. People are concerned over how to continue protecting the species after it is delisted:
http://news.fws.gov/NewsReleases/showNews.cfm?newsId=64A75F1F-FB5F-27E2-59948B71F3AFCA02

Carry on.... :D
and back on topic, the TWC disc looks sweet. There's a link to the design somewhere over in that thread... maybe someone else will post it here.

I saw that story last night, but you beat me to the punch. All I know is that the Texas size TD, Mr. V knows how to take care of the ladies, and somehow, I suspect he'd win any reasonable challenge in this arena. It's all for the girls, and we love ya here in Texas Vinnie.

We got the best, period. :D

Feb 14 2006, 12:33 PM
We love ya here in BC too Vinnie and this is just a friendly side bet to keep the cool momentum going! :D
How about this? The tourney director with the biggest Pro and Am purse, including player packages (and funds converted into US$)gets to see a digital photo posted here with the other TD wearing a tshirt (provided by the winner) at the local course with a few other club members present?
Vinnie, if you win I'll don the chessiest "Don't mess with Texas (note the Capital T) tshirt you can find. If I win (although I'm not the TD, but I'll take one for the team) I'll send you a cheesy "I love Canada" t shirt to wear.
We on Vinnie?

Sounds like fun, but I don't speak for Vinnie.

The only problem is, there's no such thing as a cheesy "Don't Mess With Texas" T-shirt. :D:D

What a sweet fundraiser disc out of Canaduh!! That thing is the BOMB!! Hope I can get my hands on one soon! Who knew some disc golfers were so sensitive? Do you keep your daughter away from TV because that disc is nothing like what is seen on regular old TV theses days, also you don't let your child look at billboards or magazines? anywho what an awesome disc!

I second yoduh on that one. Keep away from mtv if you don't want the raunchiness, not a frisbee. I think the stamp rocks. What up Yoduh? Tell Inge I like the stamp

PS Inge don't let those few people get to you. The fact all 50 pre-sold even before they went to print says it all!
