Fort Lauderdale has a unique oppurtunity to get an old golf course 1/3 mile from the beach. Zoned greenspace and the fact that Broward County has a 25 billion dollar surplus due to rising property taxes should bolster an advocate's viewpoint.
Any stategies on convincing the county commissioners that a disc golf course is the way to go here would be appreciated.

I think if you or Fly 18 or another DG group could put together a proposal showing how the county could develop a pay for play operation there, either run by the county or on a contract basis similar to Morley in San Diego, it might be a way to persuade them.

4 Palms in Jacksonville was built on an unused ball golf course. You might want to track them down---someone there's already been down this road and may have tips or references with the parks department.
