I posted this on the Mile High board, but it's worth repeating here:

Hello all
In the tradition that Kathy started, I'd like to get a women's weekly event going this summer. Since I have no classes and am just expected to get research done, I have a lot more free time and am able to do this.

I was thinking I could do Expo on Wednesdays around 5:30. Expo seems to be the best course for beginning women, though it's pretty far from me. Westy and Bird's Nest are too long and rough (though we could easily not play 18 holes, or play a selective round). Tuesdays and Thursdays are no good for me, Friday is typically our travel day, and that leaves Monday and Wednesday. On the other hand, it may be nice to do it Tuesdays concurrently with tags at Expo so that couples could show up together. If that turns out to be better for most women, then I could do it every other week and someone else could step up to do it when I can't.

Depending on what kind of interest we have, I may start doing little prizes each week. I'd like to keep it non-competitive, but I also feel a reward system is good! I should also be able to bring a few lighter weight starter discs for the women who have never played or only played with someone else's discs.

So for now, what input do other women have as to a) the course and b) date/time? I will probably be at Expo tomorrow, Wed June 21, around 5:30 in case anyone can show up then. I have a friend who wants to learn to play, and I figured I'd start with her :)
