In Kentucky, I think it's UK, they hold the Collegiate Disc Golf Championships. There's a start. Kentucky DG'ers Laura Clark and Brock Howerton played integral roles, I believe.

Ryan Pickens in Western NC runs college tournaments between Mars Hill, WNC, Brevard and UNC Asheville. He is a prof. at Mars Hill and I thinks it's pretty informal. Powerdisc.com did have info on it.

Also Montreat college and Buncombe community are involved. This is like the third or fourth season of competition. UNCC would have a nationally ranked team if they were in (BJ, HC, CW, PP, and Libby!) :D

I just started back for a second bachelor's degree at the University of Central Florida. The course there still needs to be rebuilt from the hurricanes of '04. It does look like the it's on the U's list after big projects like building parking structures, football stadiums, and roads.

I'm trying to get some folks together to make the trip next spring to play in the collegiate championships. Does anyone have dates, locations, competition format?

It seems like a great thing they started up there in Kentucky, but info on the event is hard to come by.
