Hi Mark!

Huntsville has awesome courses!!!

I send out a newsletter each week about disc golf in Alabama. I can add you to the email list if you'd like. My email address is [email protected]

Huntsville's club is known as the Rocket City Chain Gang. We have two local sites:

http://www.davidhunt.org/phpBB2/index.php
(which is run by our RCCG officers)

and

http://hsvdiscgolf.com/news.php
(which is run by some Huntsville disc golfers that JUST got into the game.)

Here is a link to the history of disc golf in Alabama:

Huntsville was host to the PDGA World Championships in '83 and '93.

We currently have 4 courses. Brahan Springs, Mastin Lake, Redstone Arsenal, and UAH (University of Alabama in Huntsville). Brahan is the oldest existing disc golf course in the world in that it has remained on the same plot of land since it originated in the early 70's. It is nicknamed "Bark Park" due to the thousands of pine trees!! ;) Redstone Arsenal is also well known in that Hole #15 is featured on the disc series "Greatest Disc Golf Holes of the World".

Hope this helps!!

We look forward to your move!!

My name is Chris Pierce. I will be moving to Birmingham, Alabama early next year. Just wanted to talk to somone from the area about why B-ham doesn't have a PDGA affiliate Club. Does anyone know why or have any opinion? I'm looking forward to playing on some hills!! It's flat here in OK.

Thanks for any info,

ChrisP.

My parents moved to Huntsville a few months ago, so I will be there later this month (Dec. 18th-21). I am hoping to be able to play a round or two with some locals. It is always more fun to play with someone who knows the lines. Maybe there is a student, prof, or NASA engineer that can sneak away and throw a round during the day. PM if you may be available.

Thanks,
Levi

I made it just in time for the Michigan-like weather.

Played Braham for the first and second times and had alot of fun.

I'm down for playing with anyone in the area...especially if you can get me into that redstone course.

Also, does anyone know when the next meeting is for the RCCG? Gotta get on board....
