I just joined the PDGA so let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I started playing disc golf in 2000 but really didnt play it as much untill 2003 when I was laid off my job. I would look for jobs..send in resumes then head over to liveoak and learn the game of disc golf. I would be there 3-4 days a week for about 3 months untill I found a job :D. I play the front 18 only...never really ventured to the back ones. Once I started my job I lost intrest. I started to play Golf about 1 1/2 ago and really enjoy it but the cost of golf isnt too cheap. One day I just stopped playing Golf cause I needed to save money for my vacation. I thought of disc golf again about a month ago and called my friend who use to play with me. We went out there after a 3 year hiatus thinking I was going to forget how to play cause when I left the game 3 years ago I was scoring between 54-60 on the front 18. I went on the football field and let it rip. I got one of those things I call a "stinger" in my hand after I threw it. I was about 20-30 yds short of my usual 300ft. My first game back I score a 57 and think...wow I didnt lose anything...i was really happy. So now that im back into it I decided to register for the PDGA and practice the back.Hopfully one day I can enter one of the tournaments they have there. I heard they are building a a disc gold course in San Antonio off of O'connor somewhere but I cant pinpoint where it will be. Other things about me is that Ive lived in SA all my life...im 34,married with no kids...yet. Nice to meet you all

Welcome, John

I was the new guy when I moved here at the beginning of this year, and these San Antonio disc golfers have been nothing but gracious and welcoming. I felt like part of the group from the very beginning.

So welcome to LODGA, and thanks to my fellow golfers.

yeah thats me. I dont think ill enter the tourney cause I went out last week and played the back ones and I totally stunk and got lost. I need to play more on the back ones and get use to them. When I went out there 3 years ago I dont remember it being packed every single day with soccer and football! I usually have to skip 1 when I play cause of all the people out there...the park is really popular now. You think I can order a single disc from your friend Danielle? I dont know where they sell discraft beside the little store on leafyhallow. thanks for the welcome and info.

Even if you're not playing, it might be worth coming by and checking out. The pro shop will be well stocked with something like $40,000 worth of DG goodies :D

Don't get Jim into this. He has been quiet, trying not to offend anyone, like the peaceful, nice, considerate pereson he is.

By the way Judy, I see you are located in the water behind #8. I guess you are imitating a Jodie roller disc. :DHave a nice day.

Howdy John. LODGA hold's a Sun Mini at UC park Sign up by 9:30 near hole 10, near the picnic table's. There is parking on the back side of the park. We usually have a turn-out of 20 player's. Some of the local discer's are at Moody's for the Octoberfest. We should at least have 15 show up I reckon. Circle R is a great place to improve your game!
More info can be found on
www.lodga.com (http://www.lodga.com)

Oct 07 2006, 06:48 PM
can you give intructions to UC park..hole #10

rtinsa
Oct 07 2006, 06:51 PM
Instead of pulling into UC park at the main entrance, take the street before the park, a left turn. And stay on the street and the other park entrance is on your right hand side you can't miss it. I forget the street name.

Oct 07 2006, 07:04 PM
sounds easy enough. Do you ever get together on saturdays? sundays arent good for me usually
