At the recent PDGA Board Summit Meeting in Georgia, the Board reluctantly accepted the resignation plans submitted by Brian Hoeniger and Lorrie Gibson. Brian and Lorrie have served the PDGA since 1997, providing an incalculable amount of diligent effort and boundless enthusiasm for disc golf, which has guided the PDGA to the level that we enjoy today. Their efforts have been instrumental in the transformation of the PDGA over the last 10 years, including the movement of the PDGA headquarters from Toronto to the new PDGA headquarters at the International Disc Golf Center in Wildwood Park, Columbia County, Georgia. A full review of their productive tenure at the helm of our organization will be forthcoming. Their plans include resettling on Toronto Island, taking next summer off, and exploring opportunities including a return to working in Africa. Brian will also serve as the PDGA's International Director and both he and Lorrie will continue to support the new office team as requested.
Upon receiving the resignation plans, the Board immediately authorized the search for a new Executive Director. The announcement for that position has now been released and will be posted both within and outside the disc community. Deadline for receipt of applications for the position will be November 30, 2006, with the intended date of hire being in early April of 2007. The selection of tthe Memberships Manager will be an initial task of the new Executive Director.

That was just bad and not funny.
That's your opinion. You're entitled to it. I took it for what it's worth and laughed my rear end off for a few seconds.

the best thing the PDGA could do would be to get an executive director from outside the sport. one without the biases and secrecy of some of our current leadership. Brian and Lorrie, thanks for a great job. Now, though, it is time for a change to take the PDGA to a new level.
