I'm just a little curious where the money goes that we put in the PDGA coffers every year. Is there a page in the PDGA that give us a break down of how much money is gathered and where that money is spent? I'm not even suggesting that it is not being used right or wrong.
Oh and one more question, why do Pro's pay more than Am's, we don't get any thing different from the PDGA that I can see. Just a question.

You get the priviledge of being a pro and having a National Tour. I think that was the lame excuss somebody gave a few months ago.

The things I see that a budget brings.
salaried positions to handle your membership, scheduling, and other issues. People that are working all year to get corporate sponsorship for the national tour. Enough support and financial assistance so that someone will step up and host the PDGA Pro worlds (in a good year).
And You get the to support the best hope there is of anyone making a living playing this sport in the future.

The budget has been published in Disc Golf World News in the past. Now that they have gone with the picture book format, [which I actually enjoy; don't get me wrong on that] I don't know whether they will devote two pages to numbers no one reads.
Pro's pay more because they want to pay more. Period. If you want to pay less, run that tournament. As a TD, I like to charge everyone the same, and do so, more and more, as I think about it, more and more. At those of my tournaments where pros pay more, it is because the pros involved in producing or promoting the event said that was what they wanted to pay.

Is Zott talking about tourney entry fees or is he talking about PDGA membership fees?

I just got an email by the PDGA. It said membership is up 18%, I'm surprised that with all that extra money coming in dues need to be raised at all.

and i'm sure part of it goes to cover costs of the IDGC, which i think is good.
having a permanant address will look better from a potential sponsors view

Spring issue of DGW(N) has shown the financials for the previous year after being presented and approved at the Summit meeting. Since the Summit will be later next year, perhaps the mag will come out before the Summit. Becky Zallek sent me the 1988 version of our PDGA Disc Golfer magazine which showed a budget of $35,000.

The Marshal program and John Duesler are primarily expenses for pros and the PDGA spends more net money on the Pro Worlds than Am Worlds including the cost of the video which loses in the neighborhood of $15,000 after all sales and costs are tallied. The $10 increase in dues differential between ams and pros (it was $15 now $25) will likely bring in less than $25,000 additional income in 2007.

The video numbers have been provided by Hoeniger at several Summit meetings when he gives the PDGA financial report open to anyone visiting the meeting. The differential is by multiplying $10 by the less than 2500 pro members I believe are current right now.

I'm not a Board member and the Summit meetings are more open than teleconferences. The information had already been approved in the minutes of a previous meeting.
