If you were not such a fair weather golfer you would have found out last night. :o:D
I did hear one thing last night that made this event a LOT more appealing....Rivershite is only going to be used on saturday. So less River and more anything else is a GOOD thing.
SAP-a-lup-A made it A TON more appealing

some details : 2006 Riverside Glide
.
I only expect maybe 30 , 40 , 50 players could handle more if need be Ive got-sum flexible situations for play OBVIOUSLY got some smaller entry-fees at work (incl. ace-pot & CTP) heck , its December and , out of each entry will come 3-to-5 bucks directly into Januarys 2007 Tulsa Ice Bowl were really kicking that fund early to bigger-n-better numbers well ALL be heroes
.
now : NINERS ya know the magic of a 9-hole Course layout during competition no matter what-length Holes you play ; its the fact that while scoring a round of 18 , you get another go at each Hole Ive always dug that feature
so this weekends action will be a combination of 9-hole routes , twice around each making a round of 18 and depending on numbers and Divisions , we may be in one Flight or separate (another beauty of NINERS is both Flights can play simultaneously if need be no staggered start-times)
.
KNOWNS : Saturday-morn registration till 9:20 at Riverside our first round-of-play will be there at 10am Sunday well be at Kelly Lane in Sapulpa (not quite as early) for a couple-of-testing-turns around that stellar Layout awards and payouts pretty early wrapped at Kelly Lane Sunday afternoon
.
NOT-YET-SET-IN-CONCRETE : Saturday Afternoon TD discretion as to where well play it by ear mine AND yours I kinda lean toward Saturday afternoon at Mack Taylor waddya think ? the regular 9 ? I can hardly envision playing there though without a Witches Island hole TEN-NERS ? I was going to see how the Players felt about that possibility
.
.
ps : long-ago , I was really hoping to use Ray Brown Park as well there are some great holes in that Park to challenge but Park-Renovation pushed that option aside for now
.
.
summation : a lotta fun NINERS rounds to play a lotta good company cooler than August some Courses with easy-holes some Courses with tough-holes a weekend with an-early-wrap-up dig it

For 50K, a bull dozer and a contact with the corp of engineers I could turn the River into a fine disc golf course...but as a touring pro player and a course designer, I cringe every time I'm there. With over 9 holes that plays over parking lots and jogging trails, it is a course design nightmare...WE AS A CLUB ARE SO LUCKY that no one has ever been seriously hurt out there.

I hit a woman riding her bike on hole #18 one time...i felt absolutely terrible about it because I hit her collar bone on a hyzer that went deep, she just crossed over the bridge and BOOM collar bone.

WTH?
You're kidding, right?
Just because we haven't seen it, doesn't mean it hasn't happened.
Tell you what, stand on the joggin trail on 17 and let me know if it hurts. :o
Speaking of #18, I'll never forget when we were playing that hole and the cross dressing flamer came strutting over the bridge, about 5 seconds after Stu Perry said "Look at this FINE b!tc# coming" (HE had on a short black skirt, fish-net hose and high heels on) about 10 seconds later we realized that was a mighty big Adams apple for a girl

Hey, What happened? I showed up at Mack Taylor at 10:30 for the first round, and no one was there. Who could have sent me that now controversial e-mail telling me about a last minute schedule change. This act is astounding. I will initiate a secret invistigation and have this injustice solved. Attention all advanced grandmasters. Prepare to be "doominated" at the Ice Bowl.
