Every year DGW publishes a list of the PDGA's largest tournaments, but they give short shrift to split-day tournaments and NT/As. Since Jon, myself and the host of volunteers run the PDGA's fifth or sixth [?] largest event that gets listed as 40th, I thought I'd make a list of the biggest tournaments in terms of total number of entry fees sold. If you want to get a little recognition for your big split-day tournament or NT/A that got overlooked by DGW, mention it here and I'll update the list.

Here's the Top 14, so far:

<table border="1"><tr><td>04/01-02/06</td><td>Bowling Green Am Champs</td><td>0</td><td>554</td><td>554
</td></tr><tr><td>07/25-29/06</td><td>PDGA Am Worlds</td><td>0</td><td>545</td><td>545
</td></tr><tr><td>03/03-05/06</td><td>The Memorial</td><td>206</td><td>177</td><td>383
</td></tr><tr><td>08/09-12/06</td><td>PDGA Pro Wolrds</td><td>299</td><td>0</td><td>299
</td></tr><tr><td>07/29-30/06</td><td>IOS #4 Forest City Frenzy</td><td>48</td><td>176</td><td>224
</td></tr><tr><td>06/09-11/06</td><td>KC Wide Open</td><td>93</td><td>131</td><td>224
</td></tr><tr><td>08/19-20/06</td><td>San Francisco Safari</td><td>60</td><td>156</td><td>216
</td></tr><tr><td>05/27-28/06</td><td>Greater Des Moines Challenge</td><td>77</td><td>137</td><td>214
</td></tr><tr><td>04/08-09/06</td><td>PDGA Am World Doubles</td><td>0</td><td>210</td><td>210
</td></tr><tr><td>06/24-25/06</td><td>IOS #3 The Crystal Cruise</td><td>34</td><td>175</td><td>209
</td></tr><tr><td>06/10-11/06</td><td>Steady Ed\'s Birthday Memorial</td><td>48</td><td>160</td><td>208
</td></tr><tr><td>04/22-23/06</td><td>IOS #1 at Kenosha</td><td>41</td><td>162</td><td>203
</td></tr><tr><td>05/20-21/06</td><td>IOS #2 at Lombard</td><td>35</td><td>167</td><td>202
</td></tr><tr><td>06/03-04/06</td><td>Minnesota Majestic</td><td>85</td><td>111</td><td>196
</td></tr><tr><td></tr></td></table>

I hear your pain and aggrevation Bruce.

We usually sanction Texas States as Pro and Advanced divisions at A-tier and all others as B-tier. All stats on tournaments show this as two separate events when in fact we continue to have one of the largest total payouts.

I commend what you guys do...I can't wait to attend one of your events when I go back to visit family again!

I'm not slamming DGW. It would be hard to track down the tournaments that got split by the NT/A designation or by the split day thing. I just thought I'd work on getting it together so that the biggest tournaments could get some recognition for that. Any others out there in the 200+ range, shout out and I'll update the list.

Any more split sanctioned or split day lurkers out there? Wisconsin? I'll look at the Prairie Open later.

The Beaver State Fling would be pretty high up on the list if we got to combine our pro and am sides of the NT/A tier (they are run as one event, for all practical purposes).

The Mr. Jim's Carrollton Open had 200 players!!!!!!

And it is not a split event. Just two 21 holes courses, 84 holes of golf in one weekend with TON's of added money and merch.

You do, on this thread. I'll get that one on the list. Basically, anything where everyone plays the same named tournament on the same weekend qualifies for this list.

For Texas tournaments, y'all need to at least give me the month. There are too many Texas tournaments for me to find them otherwise.

I checked that one, but forgot they split it three ways.

Bruce - Hey great topic and thanks for putting that table together! It really is cool to see it presented like that...lot of tournaments that are very impressive in here but that I haven't really heard much about.

IOS is amazing!!! Wow! Way to go guys!

Thanks for taking the time to have these events get some kudos!

554 for the am weekend and 151 for the pro weekend.

That gives Bowling Green 705 players for its tournament.
