Every club is invited, each player has an entry fee and each player will receive a very nice player's package.
The event will be held hopefully January 2008 at Turkey Lake, the venue is approved we just need a date to work with.
All players will play two rounds on Saturday, the top two from Pro,Amateur and Intermediate (from each club) will play on Sunday in a MATCH play event. The winning representatives for their club receive bragging rights, take the trophy home for a year and the club or course name is engraved on the trophy. That club is responsible for bringing the trophy back the following year.
The club fund raising comes in as this:
Saturday evening, there will be a Fly Mart at the indoor pavilion. Each club can set up for free to sell their club stock, give mini lessons, sell snacks or sodas or whatever they choose to do for fund raising.
If we get enough players there...150+ a portion of the entry fees can be donated back to each club.
Like I said, that is a brief description of what we are trying to do. We are really wanting ALL Florida clubs to work together and help raise money for future tournaments, course improvements or what ever the club or course might be needing.
So far, most of the clubs I have spoken with are totally into the idea and have been added to the mailing list. This can only work with each club promoting their members to come along and join in. Even if they do not make the top 6 players, we need a gallery to follow the MATCH play golfers. I am trying to get some TV coverage, we may even have a local restaurant sponsoring lunch and much more to follow.
