My wife just called me to say she heard them talking about discs golf on KERA 90.1 in the DFW area.
They mentioned the 2 Courses in Carrollton and that there were several courses in the DFW area. They also said something about the PDGA. However she could not tell me anything else.

What did Mark Davis say a couple of weeks ago on his show?
What did Mark Davis say a couple of weeks ago on his show?
One of his callers made a comment about disc golfers ( as a majority ) being nothing but a bunch of hippie pot heads. Mr Davis did not argue his perspective .:mad:

.....just in Carrollton. :D
Several years ago, around 1997 or 1998, Kelly Hicks(director of the ADGA at the time) was promoting the VPO on an early morning radio show....could have been Mr Davis' show. Anyway, Kelly was on his soapbox talking about the best players in the world will be in Arlington along with some of the best local talent. The DJ and his sidekick started in on the .....well if you need a disc just visit your local headshop and grab a pipe or a bong for the round too. Kelly did his best to redirect the conversation but it became a mute point instantly. The DJ's were having too much fun with the stereotyped sport and it's players.
Here's an interesting magazine advertisement
HUMBOLDT STATE UNIVERSITY
Arcata, California
The Lumberjacks
7,500 students
$18,768 non-resident tuition
"Humboldt is consistently cited as being in the "Top 10%" of all US colleges and universities for academic quality."
humboldt.edu
The school offers many environmental majors, with forestry and marine biology being popular. Bike and walking trails abound, and there's a lake in the nearby Redwood Park in the Arcata Community Forest. There's free concerts and healthy food in the cafeteria, two Frisbee-golf courses , and lots of student activism in the area of conservation. Located between the Pacific Ocean and massive redwood forests, the school is in a veritable rainforest setting, surrounded by some of the United States' biggest grow operations. Local strains like White Shark, Northern Lights, Buddha and Train Wreck sell for $30 for 1/8-oz. Smoking implements can be bought at the Humboldt Glass Blowers, Time Traveler or Pacific Paradise headshops.
