Someone needs to create a page for the IDGC that includes visiting info, etc. There is really nothing available that gives directions or even information as to where it is located. Last time I found it by mixing a zip code I found with google maps. If you want people to visit perhaps you should offer information regarding directions and lodging. Just a thought. It's possible I've missed this info but I highly doubt it and if I have, it should be made more visible.

exactly. When I refer to it, I want to link to something other than the PDGA. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it needs its own entity.

Guys,
A dedicated IDGC page at PDGA.com is currently being worked on by Matt Gillis. Look for an announcement about its launch in the near future.

That's all well and good but maybe next time you should work on coordinating website setup with the opening of the site. Bascially the IDGC is just a mystical place that noone can find or visit without doing alot of homework. I've only been a member of the pdga for 2 years and this kind of backwords thinking is the reason that each year I struggled with paying up. As a governing body I think your main goal should be education and advertisement, here you have obviously failed. When the site is finally up and the information is available, i'll be making the voyage down, i hope the courses are everything i'd hope they'd be.
the_ox,
Thanks for your interest in the IDGC. Sorry for your disappointment in regards to having a website up in time for the opening ceremony. I personally accept responsibility. My apologies, I've been busy building these courses.
We look forward to having you come down to the IDGC as the facility continues to improve.
If you have further questions in regards to visiting, please contact me here. (
[email protected]) More information will be available as the time allows.
Thank you for your patience.

Wildwood park is actually on the same road as the Augusta Nationals,Washington St. where the Masters is played. Just go north for 20 minutes. Go throught the 4 way stop at Pollards corner. When you see the boat yard, slow down. It is on the right.

Matt - One thing I would recommend would be adding the Ed and Jackson courses to the on-line PDGA Course Directory. The on-line directory is the first place many folks go to find info on courses, and even without having an IDGC web page in place you could provide some basic information.
Ox - in defense of Matt and others at the PDGA office, they have had a tremendous to-do list, between building and furnishing the IDGC building, building the two courses, running an NT/A Tier event and transitioning leadership and key staff of the office. I think they needed to get the IDGC building and courses built before they created a website for them.
My two cents, of course.
Thanks Riz.
The Course Directory has been updated and the changes will go through shortly. The Headrick Course was listed under Pollard's Corner, which may be a town, but is too small to be picked up by the main online map systems. These courses can use the same address as our address listed above.
More changes/additions en route!

There's going to be a "next time"?
It would have been nice to have a comprehensive website up prior to the Hall of Fame but, having been there and seen the phenomenal amount of work that had been done---and the considerable amount still to do---I certainly understand. Better to have the courses ready to play, but no website, than vice versa.
I hope the website will eventually include lots of course photos.

Could I suggest ... rather than stressing so much ... just head on down!
It is super-easy to get to the IDGC, as Tom noted. The easiest instructions: take I-20 into Georgia from SC, turn right at the 2nd exit (Washington Road), go about 20 miles, turn right into Wildwood Park. It is a huge park, with a big sign. There's a park fee of $2/car and there may be a disc golf fee too, but the folks at the guard shack at the entrance can tell you that. Regarding lodging ... there is camping in the park, but no motels near there. However, there are a gazillion motels on Washington Road.
If you are planning on visiting and you need more info, just make a quick phone call (phone number is at the top of the home page for the PDGA). I'm sure they'll be glad to know you are making the trip down from MD and happy to answer any other questions you might have! I'd bet the IDGC building will be open most days during business hours (staff will be working there).
I look forward to the time when the IDGC has a website that is as wonderful as the center and facility themselves, but I've been there and seen the enormous amount of work that has been done to prepare the IDGC for the grand opening. As it came down to crunch time, I'd guess that the priority had to be getting the courses ready for the NT. The IDGC is a fantastic step forward for disc golf!

A designated area of pdga.com has been developed for information on the International Disc Golf Center.
www.pdga.com/idgc (http://www.pdga.com/idgc)
I hope to add more pictures (including course walk throughs) and some further tweaking will always be necessary.
Please feel free to provide feedback where necessary. We look forward to seeing you.
Here's some pictures that will eventually make it into some promo materials for the Center. Enjoy!
