I don't really know any of those guys. Can I just vote "no" on Mikey?

I'm leaning towards voting for tournament directors, business owners, accountants and amateurs.

whatever anyone does, PLEASe vote for accountant! we need him bigtime. one of the downsides of the new bylaws is that there is no definition to the positions. this leaves wide open the possiblity that the Association will end up with a less than ideal skill set on the BoD.

pat is right on on this. can someone remind me what the point was when candidates ceased to run for specific positions?

this election is the first time BoD candidates run "at large". last year's election was the last one that specified positions.

How many times have you seen someone run for a position and then realize after they became elected that the position was not a good fit. The fooled themselves and everyone else who voted for them that this is their calling?
I have seen it often enough to see the benefit of running for the board and then determining the abilities of the individual to match a job title. I also see the benefit of Board members being elected to a specific title, but we did that for awhile lets try this and see how it goes

Yeah, I should have said, "Accountants, tournament directors, business owners and amateurs, in that order." I don't even know whether Mr. Decker is an am or a pro, but if he is willing to serve, it is always good to have an accountant. After that, we really need Board members who understand what is involved in running a tournament, and how much top-down meddling we really need in how our tournament directors run their tournaments.
But if the plan is to move to a toothless, bloviating, rubber-stamp kind of Board, and a PDGA where all the real work is done by self-perpetuating committees and office staff, it doesn't matter who we vote for.

Bob Decker is an Am Master player if I recall correctly. He's from Kansas and has been involved in the KDGA (Kansas Disc Golf Association) for a number of years.

Bob was a voice of reason in the board meetings I was part of. No agenda other than helping the organization.

Bob Decker and his wife Betty are quality folk. They've been a positive boon for disc golf - locally, here in Kansas, and beyond.
