I like getting a tourney stamped disc in a player's pack, because I can hang that on the wall. I don't like getting t-shirts because they're usually not very good quality, and they don't usually have my size. Towels are always useful.

Tourney stamped stuff like disc, towel, water bottle, whatever. Not fond of t-shirts. I don't like stock-stamped discs as PP items, either.

I love getting t-shirts, but just like bigs, I'm a big fella as well. How about some love for the fat kids?

Yup that is weak. From an Am's standpoint, pony up the extra $.50 or whatever. Not only does it (usually) look cooler, it gives the player status because "I was there man".

If a TD for some reason cannot give out custom stamped discs, give players merch vouchers and let them pick the disc they want.

Even better, get a variety of molds of custom stamped discs and let the players choose which they want.

i like to get a simple voucher for whatever the amount of the PP is, and then be able to redeem the voucher with the TD, for whatever i like in inventory.

How 'bout custom stamped discs....from the previous year's tournament? Remainders! Leftovers! Not as bad, though, compared to receiving left over discs from some other tournament.

We give merchbucks and let Ams pick their prizes. Many choose custom-stamped discs, but some just choose their favorite discs. But they have options of new bag, portable basket, whatever.

My preference, a minority position I admit, would be no players pack at all. Charge me $40 to play and give me $15 back in merchandise? I'd rather pay $25 to play, and decide whether to spend my $15 and, if I do, spend it on what I want or need. (Acknowledging, of course, that TDs don't have this option at sanctioned, B-tier & above)

For a year or so I let players take as their $10 value player pack a coupon for ten dollars off their entry fee. We made one coupon and used it all morning at registration. The idea of end running the new mandatory player pack rule [censored] off Brian Hoeniger, which was motivational. :D

After awhile I decided that all of that made doing the financials too complicated, one more thing to be keeping track of, so I quit doing that. Also, I matured just a little bit and decided I no longer needed to deliberately push Brian Hoeniger's buttons. Pushing them naturally just by being me was enough. :D

Sweetest players package item I ever recieved? It was a high-quality golf umbrella with the tourney logo on it. Very nice! I have got 3+ years of good use out of it so far.

I also like it when I get consumables; small tubes of sunscreen, lip balm, water/sports drink, granola/energy bars, even handwarmers (in the proper season). You know, all those things you use up and sometimes forget to restock in your bag or run out of halfway through a round!

Oh yeah, I liked getting a birdie bag at a tournament eariler this spring. I was kicking myself for losing one and forgetting to replace it. Good thing too, I definitely needed it after getting tree sap all over my hands midway through the round...

One thing I really enjoyed from a player's pack I received is Ript. It's a game that I probably wouldn't have bought otherwise, but now that I own it I've played it several times because it can make a round a lot more interesting. I really look forward to the Ript Revenge that's coming in the player's pack of an upcoming tournameny.

I also echo the liking of tourney-stamped discs as it is a great way to say "I was there." Except for a CTP i won for a disc from another tournament. It was a great disc, but it confuses people that "I wasn't there."

What if I told you you could play my tournament and get all of the above? T-shirt, 2 towels, custom stamp disc, second stock disc of your choice, sticker, mini, and 2 meals? All that for reduced entry and a chance for a trophy at the end? (No payout to Am's) Well, I'm trying that very thing next week...the first ever True Am event in West Texas.

We'll see how it goes.......
