Any one rated at 915 or greater must play advanced or an age protected division.

The 955 is for Pros playing down to Am. ;)

That's the way I saw it......

there's no ratings cap for turning pro, you can be rated 1050 and play advanced as long as you haven't accepted cash or prizes in a pro division

954 and below can play down without points

955 and up and have accepted cash/prizes in a pro division....
you're a pro (until they offer amnesty again )

at least you won't be called a bagger

... Evan is right ... an Amateur rated 915 and up must enter and play "Advanced MA1" ... but there is no "cap" on how high an Advanced Am could be rated ...
.
... Advanced MA1 Division is available to "ANY Rating" ... (as of Tour Guidelines 11/14/06) ...

I know all of that. Since I have accpeted CASH and my rating is 955 I figured that meant I am restricted to playing pro only. But if the rule is 955 and below I should be good to go in the MA1 division.

The chart says <955 with should mean a 955 player who has accepted cash can play Advanced. If I were 956 and accepted cash I would not be able to play Advanced. I am correct here, right?

I understand all of the cutt offs to be, <955 to mean LESS than 955 or <915, less than 915.

So if you are 955 and have accepted, you're screwed, you went up one too many points.

<955 less than
>955 greater than

Yes, no?

LMAO!!!!!

You think 955 playing Advanced is a bagger? You might want to check out the ratings in the advanced division nowadays, Jay. At 955 I am FAR from a high rating. Advanced division ratings (this from the PDGA) is 915 and up, there is no limit which is why you see 980 rated players in advanced

The benefits of playing pro in Oklahoma:

-playing against Kevin and Coda
-higher entry fees
-no players packs

Bagger? PUHLEEEEEAAAAZE!

You can check out the ratings guide here (http://pdga.com/documents/td/06PlayerDivisionsGridFinal.pdf) .

Strictly speaking <955 means 954 or lower.

But, I think the PDGA meant 955 or below..

PM Chuck Kennedy maybe...

twoputtok

They mean less than 955, just like for AM2, if you are 915, you are too high, you must be 914 or less to play int AM.

Aug 28 2007, 05:54 PM

You're kidding right?

The only reason you are forced to play pro is due to you taking cash, not your rating. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

****, I can't beleive your unhappy because your rating went up.
An increase like that means you're doing something right, not wrong. Just figure out what it is and make it even better.

"Damnit, I hate it that my game has gotten better" :o

Wasn't it just a year or two back that you said you were in a slump and would be Am 4ever?

Come on Conners, would the Hoff act like that?
Chuck Norris would kick your arse for that crap. :D

m_conners
Aug 28 2007, 06:02 PM
I have not gotten any better, though...i think the only reason my player rating has gone up is due to not playing as many tournaments as I have in the past.

I knew my rating was going to go up but not 10+ points! Dadgumitt! What I wanted to do for the rest of the year was pick and choose what tournaments to play pro. At 955 I can't do that, its cool though.

Just disapointed that's all...i'll take my arse whoopin this weekend, my goal is to place 9th or better.

According to the PDGA you are considered to be:

An average Open Player has several years of experience, throws 325-400 feet accurately, makes 6-8/10 putts from 23-30 feet, and has a variety of shots (rollers, forehands, ect) to draw from. Ratings guideline 950+ Score range <56.

I say thats a failry good description of you, what do you think?

They also say that a World Class Open Player is rated at 1000+, you're just average. :D

Exactly, I will be signing up as a pro next season unless they bring bag the amnesty thing (highly unlikely).

If I had been in a better financial situtation I would have denied that cash at Riverside. $90 when you are broke goes a long way, plus it made the wife happy to bring home a little grocery money.

Last weekend I played my last sanctioned event for a long time, I'm not going to be a donater for the open players you can count on that.
