Its almost Ice Bowl time again. An extra $40 gets you 6 mulligans here in Denver.
Any thoughts on the best mulligan strategy?

Ice Bowl Mulligans = $1 in San Diego. No limit on the amount you can purchase.
I typically will use my mulligans on putts that I know I should make. I only use them on drives if it is a short hole and I totally shanked my first drive. That being said, if there is a special prize for an Ace, I might be prone to use all my mulligans on that hole.

1 round, 24 holes. Mulligans aren't cheap but they have helped the Mile High Disc Golf Club raise enough to donate $25,456 over the last 5 years. Shooting for $10k this year. Check it out...milehighdiscgolf.org

imho mulligans should be used for putting unless you have a really horrid tee shot

Ford Park in Redlands, CA has one hole (#4) that is very short and while it's placement on a slope does lead to some rollaway disasters (there's a pond nearby) it cries out to be run at. At our Ice Bowl this last Saturday one of our foursomes finished the second and final round there, and one of the guys had three mulligans left. Burned them all (why not?) and on the third and final got the ace.
Some folks in the second round used a couple on that hole just for that reason.

Use the Mulligan when you know it will save you a stroke. Apply a higher standard early. Doesn't matter whether it is to save par or to get a birdie. A stroke is a stroke.
Also, bring extra money to spend on whatever fund raising side games are going on for the charity. Spending extra on the charity will make you feel like you deserve to make a few long putts.

Ice Bowl ~ Charlotte, NC ~ 1998?
The Charlotte Club set up a temp course at some local park for that year's Ice Bowl. You could purchase up to one mulligan per hole at $1 a piece....and if you threw a mulligan, you had to take that shot.
Watched Stan McDaniel purchase 18 mulligans, use most of them, and only shoot like -1 or -2........ :D
