In particular, if your right at or slightly outside the circle, do you find it helpful to keep your back foot planted to get a little more "oomph" on the putt? Usually inside the circle I will raise my back foot a little to get more flow to my putt. That seems to work great from 25 or so in, but around the circle my putts often fall a couple of inches short. Discpong showed this style to me recently and was wondering what others thought about putting with your rear foot planted. It does seem to help the disc get there easier, kind of pushing off with your rear foot also. Outside the circle I usually do a walkthough / jump putt which seems to be working out nicely. I'm curious what others think about this.

I feel like you should be doing the opposite of what you are suggesting...keep feet planted close for less body movement and push off with the rear foot and come forward for farther putts...you might be using too much arm. I straddle putt close and use my legs for power, the farther im out the higher i get on my toes as i finish. From outside 40 feet i will either jump or step through...

Inside the circle I use a right foot lead stance and kick my left foot back upon relese. Its a natural counter-balance to the arm and shoulders leaning forward. I do plant the ball of my left foot on the ground as oppossed to standing flat footed - I use it to push off as well, but I can't help but let it kick out after the initial push.

I also use a step threw jump putt from outside the circle where I push off that left foot very hard to get added power.
