this is a work rant thread.... maybe I'm the only one?!? I just cant take it today so here goes.

right now I think I'd rather be doing anything, even those Dirty Jobs w/ Mike Rowe, than sit here in an office where good work is not appreciated or valued whatsoever. Don't even get me started on entire company phone system arse saving work that should get me lunch and dinner for two weeks, not just a "thanks, ::click::" <-- sound of phone being slammed in your ear.

Those who do just enough, if anything at all, and glide through end up getting paid as well.

I wish I was a glider. actually no I don't, because that's just not who I am.

and to have a supervisor who knows very little and proves it on a daily basis to EVERYONE and yet still continues to run a department and go places when the ones who do all the work and get no credit sit stagnant in the wings, is just beyond my level headed comprehension.

I really wish I was an online disc salesman. Just got in a little too late.

... I need a vacation  :(

I also need a beer.

Try selling radio advertising. Where you work on commission and deal with sour puss business owners.

I had the same day. all I get is you have to make this deadline. when I don't more of the same. when I meet or beat a deadline. all I hear is you have to meat the deadline on your other projects. not even a thank you or good job. man I wish I was good enough to turn pro.

How about having your sales assistant trying to tell you how to do your job.

Last time I checked a sales assistant is suppost to assist the seller, which is me. What a B.I.T.C.H

As a temp employee I worked a one-week gig back in '91....monday thru friday, 4:00 pm-midnight. It was a perfect shift for a disc golfer! :D

it is amazing the number of people dragging complete behind today and the crappy productiuon numbers associated because they were all wide awake at 1am watching our beloved penguins. totally awesome. totally awesome indeed.

so, our department has just shrunk from three to two people. Schedules need adjusted. I am now FORCED to be here until exactly 5pm everyday. If I leave at 4:45 I get home via portauthority @ 6-6:05 everyday. If I am forced to leave right at 5pm I get home at 6:55 at the earliest, probably more like 7:05. HOW IS THAT EVEN REMOTELY FAIR TO ME?!?.. for fifteen lousy minutes my day is now over an hour longer. and to clarify, I am ALWAYS in the office at least fifteen minutes early, sometimes more like 30, to get things done before all the other employees show up for their shifts. I'm salary and with all the quirkiness that goes on weeknights and weekends those fifteen minutes a day are more than made up for in butt-saving work done during scheduled off hours.

How I wish I could find a decent job here in Pittsburgh.

well, I just had to sign a form saying that I will remove ITunes from my pc, that I am aware it is against company policy to utilize the software, and that future use will result in termination.

FIRE ME. I WANT YOU TO AT THIS POINT! unemployment and under the table landscaping sounds mighty nice right now.

that is totally lame. I copied all my music from my personal laptop to my mac at work. It is great to be able to use the headphones when people in or near my office are having a meeting.

This has nothing to do with my job other than the fact that it's in Downtown Indiana. For those of you who don't know, the Meter Nazis are the worst. I just got the boot put on the Subaru which cost me $160.

Go ahead and make fun of me now.

Thanks

SO, yesterday I was having quite possibly the worst day ever. More firings at work leaving me feeling very vulnerable. More BS work at work. More BS from my personal laptop. More BS with the WHHHOOOOO Ride. Just alot of BS in general flung Stella's way. Well, maybe worst day ever is a slight exaggeration, however, if the forces can work against you I was down 10 runs with one inning left. seemed pretty daunting, that is until my "family" came to the top of the order.

this is how everything changed. I was downtown after work, tired and miserable, only to see my bus two blocks ahead of me with no desire to catch it. I waited the 25 minutes for the next one. In the meantime I recieved a call from Kurt Poole. "Dude, it could be worse" is what he said after I ranted in his ear for five minutes. You know what Kurt, you're right, Im still standing and it could be worse. Thanks buddy.

No sooner do I hang up the phone with Kurt and my mom calls. She asked when I would be home (me thinking she was coordinating when I would get my broken laptop back off her to fix). I told her about 6:15ish and she said "Great, I'll talk to you later then". OK. We'll get back to that in a second.

My bus shows up ten minutes early. WOW, I'm gonna save ten minutes of my day. that works for me.

anywho, Jay Gobrecht calls me as soon as I board the bus home and is sending my quad straps and IPOD charger back to me that I left at his house two weekends ago, along with a little surprise (I'm thinking maybe some teebirds ;)) and asked for NOTHING in return. no shipping, no nothing. "It's taken care of Stella" is what he said to me. WOW. I really need both the straps and the charger. Thanks friend.

So, now I get home. My Mom is there! She has my pork chops that I was going to have to cook for dinner already done with a side of mashed potatoes and salad! She also did my dishes since my dishwasher is broken! SO, not only do I have dinner made but my dishes are done. Thats an hour and a half of my day saved with her help and the fifteen minutes saved from teh early bus. Thanks Mom, surprises like that when you know I'm down can only make me smile.

I thus had time to throw 100 putts at the new to me Scheneley basket. Had a brew, lit a smoke, Turns out, things arent so bad after all....

the lesson here. do something nice for someone today. they may just need it.

Stella.

I have 4 days until Alanna and I leave for Worlds. That's 4 days I have to make up for 2 weeks of work. So, our wonderful managers thought it would be a good idea for us(the sellers) to sit in the office all day making phone calls to random businesses about High School Football. First off, who listens to HS football on the radio other than parents, maybe? Second off, what business owner is going to spend money on HS Football, unless they have a direct link to that team?

Bottom Line, this day is the biggest waste of my time...
