Greetings,

I am trying to gather the names and numbers of individuals who are interested in giving Ultimate a try. No previous experience is needed. I'll be trying to get some casual games of ultimate going so people can give it a try. We'll likely play with smaller teams on a smaller field just so everyone can get the hang of it. Ultimate is a cross between soccer, football, basketball, and of course Disc Golf. Players compete on teams and play moves like soccer with players on the same team trying to advance the disc up the field and score. Scoring is similar to football where a player must catch the disc in the "end zone" to score. Ultimate is a great way for disc golfers to get some cardio in! Again, these will be casual games so they won't be too crazy with running and I'll brief everyone on the rules before each game. So far there has been a fairly positive response to playing some ultimate. I'm going to try and setup a casual game for after the 12/06 mini/end of year club meeting. We can play in the school near the course's open fields. I'll bring some cones and 1 ultimate frisbee, if anyone else has an ultimate frisbee please bring it too. Played this Saturday with that group. It was a blast, and I am hurting today :o. I actually got picked first twice :D teams. Good to know I still got it in me.

I wanted to pass this information along to the McAlister Ultimate Frisbee crew. If any of you are interested in joining the San Antonio Ultimate Fall League, see the e-mail below which was just sent out by the league director. The leagues have always been great fun, and Bill has worked wonders to get the price really low (12+ games, a disc, a jersey, two tournaments all for $55 -- $50 if you are new to the league!).

The more people who sign up, the more fun this league can get. All the information you need is below. If you have any questions, you are welcome to reach out to me. But I will probably end up just directing you to Bill.
