Sounds pretty cheesy but in High School I help a friend restore a 91 Super Beetle. Ever since I've wanted my own.

I will have my own Cuda someday....I want to restore it myself but my extent of automotive know how is changing the oil, a flat and maybe even the windshield wipers. :DI can't wait to look like all my neighbors and get one and stick it on concrete blocks in the front yard. For now I will just have to drool over some of these others...

The following slideshow images are from the 2008 Regatta at Lake Arthur, a large two-day festival at Moraine State Park north of Pittsburgh, PA (this year's draw was 65,000 people). Aside from the disc golf exhibit promoted by the Pittsburgh Flying Disc Society, one of the more popular attractions is the Classic Car Cruise.... :)

I have an MGB that my dad bought brand new in 1979. It may not be the most powerful car on the planet, but after 245,000 miles, the engine still runs fine without having ever been rebuilt. I drove it to the tournament yesterday!

my old roommate has a 68 fastback that he restored with his father. he restored it to be identical to the one steve mcqueen drove in bullitt. same wheels, same everything except mcqueen insisted the mustang and ford logos be removed from the car because ford balked at donating the cars he needed for production. my roommate left the logos on. it's a pretty common car to lust after and other folks have rebuilt these in this fashion, but my roommate's was cherry. the type of ride folks would compliment at stop lights. he won several awards at various car shows.
i came home from work one afternoon and it began to rain as i put my stuff down and flicked on the tube. i heard some screaming but dismissed it as kids getting off the school bus or something. then hear more screaming, "HELP! HELP! HELP!". i ran outside and see some smoke coming from the front of our detached garage. my other roommate (the owner wasn't home yet) was running around yelling, "DO SOMETHING!". he popped the hood and flames shot out. there was a spigot with a hose next to it so i grabbed that, but it was a fuel fire so it didn't do much good. we scattered and found a few fire extinguishers and started going at it. i noticed smoke start rolling into the cab so i opened the passenger door. bad idea. the oxygen just drew the flames in even faster. i tried to fight the flames back with the hose all the while not believing what i was doing. we finally got it out.
tony (not the owner and nearly in tears at this point) said he just tried to start it up to pull it into the garage to get it out of the rain. another bad idea. alex (the owner) wouldn't even let his own mother drive the car under any circumstance.
so i go sit inside the car port next to the house. tony is just kneeling in the rain, hanging his head, wondering what the hell just happened and how exactly alex is going to kill him. alex rolls in, "what's up, paul?" i just point. he walks towards the garage, sees some smoke, his pace quickens...
all in all he took it pretty well. the idiot had removed a fuel line to put on his other hot rod (a '73 chevy short bed pickup that he had lowered and put a small block in). when tony started the engine, gas just shot onto the manifold and BOOM! alex wound up getting $10k for the car and still hasn't finished re-restoring it.

My parents have a 74 they got in 78 as the 3rd owners. It has about 64,000 miles on it. It was my ride in high school and I'll probably inherit it one day. Dreadfully slow, but a blast to drive.

eBay Find of the Day: 1963 LeMans Tempest sells for $226,521
Posted Nov 10th 2008 10:57AM by Chris Tutor
Filed under: Motorsports, Time Warp, Auction Action, Pontiac
The eBay auction for this 1963 Pontiac LeMans Tempest started out innocently enough. Obtained after owner died. Appears to have original interior but no motor, no transmission. Body has a little rust and some dents. There's stuff in the trunk, but no key to open it. Opening bid nine days ago was a mere $500. After one week, eBay seller 123ecklin will pocket $226,521 before auction fees. What happened between Day 1 and Day 9 is an amazing story.
The car's plexiglass windows, unusual suspension setup and a dash plate bearing the name of a racetrack tipped the owner to its racing history. But what he didn't know is that the car is one of only six 1963 Pontiac LeMans Tempest Super Duty coupes ever made. Hemmings recently did a story on the rare cars in which they listed all ever built. This one looks to have been driven by Stan Antlocer and was the fastest drag car in 1963 before disappearing.
Reading through the questions on the auction gives us reason to believe the seller truly didn't know the car's provenance. In his answers, he seems both surprised by the car's potential value as well as overwhelmed by the attention. He turned down an offer of $160,000 to end the auction early because he feared getting negative eBay feedback. That decision paid off. With only seven minutes remaining, the highest offer was $95,000. When the virtual gavel fell, eBayer ccsi2000 had bought a very rare, if a little rusty, LeMans for $226,521.
