looks like a close race with 2 votes for the cougs and 2 for the mavs ... I don't know jack about high school football so I'll have to give my backing to the team with the best mascot ....
On one hand a cougar would definately kcuf up a Maverick.
But a Maverick is, "someone who exhibits great independence in thought and action" and Samuel Maverick (the person the term Maverick was named after) was a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independance. So maybe the Maverick just lays a trap for the cougar and then BAM.

I'll take the cougars since that was also my High School mascot.

It looks as though the Mavs fell down....in the 2nd round.

In basketball the Mavs (Madison) are ranked 1st in the city and the Cougz (Clark) is ranked 4th in the city.

In the state wide 5A rankings the Mavs are ranked 3rd while the Cougz are ranked 15th.

Could we be looknig at another post season sports matchup between the cougz and the mavs?
